I now attend an Independent Assembly of God Church- I do not care about denominations, but hey thats what they tell me it is -I just found that out toinight after going there a month. My old church was First Assembly but wow are they different. Anyway, the new church is starting a program where qualified people are sent to knock on doors and witness to people or offer to pray with them or simply listen. They will also go see sick people that are from church and nurture new Christians (they will all get a list of people ect.). Anyway-now I am new there but I could still go with someone as they do their people, but I just can't physically do it. I am so tired of being too fat to do anything. I can't walk. I can't stand. You know what-I was going to erase this because I just realized I am falling into a trap of self-pity that could lead to nowhere good and does not come from God. I think I will talk to the pastor and ask him if there is anything I could do-maybe he's got a prayer list-I can pray -thats for sure and what could be more important??? I'm just posting this -I don't even know why, but here it is---LOL

Amy if you were to simply pray for the group that would be enough. You certainly have the heart for prayer - so I am happy you posted. In His Grip Sally

Amy I know how you feel.. I feel the same way.. I can barely walk and cannot stand longer than 5 minutes due to my diabetic neuropathy--mostly in a wheel chair and i feel that i am useless to my chruch--tho i am independent Baptist.. I just cannot wait until the weight is all off so i can feel useful again.. It is soooo frustrating and shameful.. God Bless Keep the faith hun--things will get better--Prayers--SUSIE

Amy, The Lord has a ministry for all of us. Perhaps you can give to this ministry by calling others on the phone to offer encouragement and prayer support. Sometimes a phone call from someone who cares is the perfect pick me up! The Lord wants us healthy for many reasons. One of them is so that we will have the freedom to do His work. I do now know where you are at in your WLS process. But I want to encourage you to not give up! The Lord has a place for you right now and will have one for you as you walk through the wls journey. You have a purpose in God's kingdom no matter what trials you are facing. It's the same way for people that have a lot of debt or financial problems. There isn't freedom to give generously the way perhaps others are able to give. Well, the Lord wants people struggling in their finances to be freed from that burden and free to do His work. Yet, even still, in that struggle, God has a purpose and plan for us too. (We struggle with too many years of poor money handling and now huge debt.) But we can still praise & worship the Lord and do His work, knowing that He works it all out. Hang in there. Be good to yourself. You are a daughter of the King! It doesn't matter if we are fat, thin, smart, dumb, rich, poor, in debt, sick or well, He loves us and has a plan for us. My prayer is that if we are less than we can be for the Lord (or less than we would like to be for Him) that He would work with us, in us and through us to fulfill His purposes and plans! Hugs, Robin
