Special Prayer Request
I just found out that my best friend, the woman who has been guiding me in my Christian growth for the last ten years, was diagnosed with breast cancer this week. I am heartbroken right now. She has had several different health issues over the years, and never seems to get a break from this stuff. Her faith is solid, and she is not questioning the Lord in this.
Please keep her in your prayers. She will be having an MRI on Tuesday to determine the extent of the cancer in her breasts.
Hugs,
Trish
(((Trish)))...I know you were asking nothing for yourself, but there are some hugs anyway as I know you are hurting so much right now.
As for your friend I just sent prayers up for her and I know that God will take care of her. Her faith will get her through this and she is so lucky to have a friend like you who loves so much and so unconditionally.
I am holding on to this scripture right now and maybe it will help you too:
The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Psalms 34:18
or in The Message it is rendered like this:
If your heart is broken, you'll find God right there; if you're kicked in the gut, he'll help you catch your breath.
I will be praying for you-Love Amy
Trish - I'm praying for the peace of the Lord to guide you and your friend through this. My best friend is chronically ill also - MS - and she stands firm on her faith in Jesus. I'll call her and ask how she's doing and she'll say "I'm in the dumper - praise the Lord!" She amazes me - God amazes me!
Take care and keep us posted.
Amy - thanks for that verse. I normally don't like other translations (a King James girl here), but I really appreciate the words about being kicked in the gut! Thank you so much!
Carolyn
Trish,
I am praying for your friend and you (re: your stomach pain). The Lord is in control. He is the comforter and healer, he is a wonderful counselor! There are great strides in medicine these days to fight breast cancer. May the Lord be with your friend and bring peace during this time.
Hugs, Robin
