Back from Chicago meeting with Surgeon

Well everything went great I think. I had to see 4 docs including the intern. They were very organized. I stayed in the same place and they came to me. All were very nice and it was easy to talk to all of them. The surgeon said I do not need any additional tests..no diet..nothing else prior to surgery. They meet as a team - nut, psyc and surgeon on Tuesday and I will know by the end of next week. They do have to submit insurance to my primary even though they have an exclusion though or medicare will not pay so that's a few weeks too, but all in all- everything went well. There is one concern that I do need prayer about. The Surgeon said that since my BMI is so high (72), He may have to do the DS in two stages and he really will not know if he can do the whole thing until he is in there. This poses a problem because if he does it in 2 stages my insurance will not pay at all, leaving me with a $40,000 bill. The whole thing is for my safety and I know God is indeed in control and He will provide either way, but I just want to get it done and paid for in one step if I can. Thank you all for your prayers. hugs-Amy

Hi Amy, Good luck in your quest. When you say 2 stages does that mean 2 separate surgeries? Praying that you can have which ever solution God thinks is best for you. In His Grip Always, Sally
