Friday update Joan M

To my friends, thanks so much..I am feeling a little better this morning. The Prayers are definitley working. I started Prevacid again Wed. evening and they are starting to help. I slept pretty good last night after using heating pad...then I had some relief from the gas. I went from 156.4 to 153.8 this morning. Not the way I want to lose. I was pretty frightened last night as I couldn't get liquids in w/o pain but then DD reminded me that was what happened when I had a raw spot on my pouch near the stoma...so maybe that is what is going on and all that was done for that last time was the Prevacid and antibiotics. So I will call surgeon this morning and see what he says today since the pain has subsided. I haven't tried to drink yet but will in a few minutes. Thanks for the prayers and keep praying. I do not want to go in the hospital. My DD is going on her first retreat today and that would freak her if I had to be admitted. Thanks, Joan M

Thanks Joni, I did get a protein drink in so far and no pain...so that is good. I have been waiting for Surgeon's ofc to open so I can update them and see what if anything else I need to do. Joan

Dear Joan, So happy you were able to get some protein drink down this morning. Praying for you that it is only gas - and of course LOL because I have never prayed that someone have gas - no really happy that you are feeling a tiny bit better. Hope your daughter enjoys her retreat and is able to put aside her concerns for a great weekend. Don't take any chances this weekend. By the way - have you tried some hot tea? When my pouch is angry the only thing that feels good, and relieves the pain is warm liquids. In His Grip Always, Sally

Sally...I tried warm apple crystal light last night and no go....but this morning I did have warm drink and it stayed down w/o pain. I just got a little twinge a minute ago and prayed for the Lord to please help me...I am still waiting for nurse to call from this morning. I would love to get lab work done and make sure it is fine. Also, if I need antibiotic that would be great. I know that last time I had raw spot on pouch they gave me IV antibiotics. So I am trusting the Lord to guide my Dr and to recommend what the Lord says is needful. Joan M

Joni - I've been very out of touch lately with my new job keeping me so busy. I pray that the healing hand of Jesus is on you! I pray that He gives you peace. May you rest in His assurance that He loves you and will never leave you. Keep us posted! Is this the first issue you've had? I may be without insurance till 4/1 and am wondering if I'm taking a terrible risk. I haven't had any complications since my surgery 4/26... Talk with you soon! Take care! - Carolyn

Joan, I am glad things are starting to improve for you. I am seeing a bit of improvement today as well. I have an appointment with the gastrointerologist on Wednesday. Hang in there. Hugs, Trish
