Quick Prayer Please
Dear Friends, I should first say that I love this board. Thank you Joan for telling me about this. Never knew! My story is simple. Had surgery on Jan. 9th of this year and I am doing great. Praise the Lord! Here is my need - a simple prayer for me to find a job that will meet my needs. I have been out of work for almost a year now due to this surgery and surgery on a torn rotator cuff that took almost 8 months to heal. (Oh by the way - give me WLS before you work on my shoulder again - ouch!!!). We are doing ok financially because God is generous and my husband is pretty good with money, but we can't be creative forever. I will be taking a 3 hour test this morning for a job as a dispatcher in the sherrif's office. If this is the one that is for me, please ask God to make it happen. I am very tired of looking and waiting. Thanks and may the Lord who is Lord of All bless your day and your lives.
In His Grip Always.
Sally
Ok I just got back from my test and I think I passed. Now for a new prayer. Like many people who know Jesus as Lord - I have a past. It is not a pretty one, but it is the one I have. Thankfully I have a loving Savior. Here is the thing. I have to pass a pretty extensive background check to get this job and my past does include drug use. They say that it won't exclude me, but some of the drugs I took could be an automatic exclusion. I will not lie on the forms regarding this, but if possible I would love God to kind of help them overlook these youthful indiscretions. (LOL) - But praying. If not, please let me know quickly that this is not the path for me. Thanks and I won't hold it against any of you if you also have a past (LOL).
In His Grip Always!!

Hi Sally,
I understand how we are sometimes concerned about our pasts, mine is downright ugly in some spots. But, Dr. Stanley says something like "Give God the situation, and leave the consequences to Him." If He wants you to have that job, your past will not prevent it. If that job is not what He has in mind for you, then don't worry about it, He probably has something better down the road.
Praying,
Trish
Sally, I commend your level of integrity. We all make mistakes and wrong choices but I truly believe those cir****tances help us grow and help others in their growing process as well.
I just pray that God will provide you with a position that will not only meet the material needs of your family, but opportunities for growth and challenge as a child of God.
I'm still on a see-saw with my job choice....I know you've prayed for me as well during these last days. I appreciate it. God bless.
My Sweet Sister Sally...another thing we have in common...torn rotator cuff and I didn't have peace about surgery that was supposed to be done in November. Hence the problem with weights and exercise for my arms which are blowing in the wind (skin). In regards to the position at the sheriff's ofc. remember nothing 9NO THING OR NO ONE) can thwart GOD'S plan for you!. We are have spots on our pasts because none are perfect no not one other than our LORD.
If this isn't the job for you then God has another one. But He is able to do that exceedingly abundantly more thing whatever it is in your life.
In His love and never ending grace,
Joan
Sally, I have said a prayer for you! My hubby had a hard time finding the job he wanted and WE needed, but you know God does things in His time and he got blessed with a great job that he was able to start last week. God will bless you very soon. I have to agree with another poster, I think it is great that you were honest about your past. Good luck!
