A glimpse of eternity

I was having my devotional time this morning and praying about WLS, as I've been doing now every day. And I said, "Lord, I will do whatever it takes to get this surgery. I will follow instructions. I will eat what they tell me to eat. I will go to whatever doctors they tell me to go to. I will endure whatever testing has to be done. I want this, Lord, because I can envision my future. I can envision a healthy and lovely body. I can envision increased service to You. And I can envision giving You the glory for it all." And then I realized that this is how I should also pray... "Lord, I will do WHATEVER IT TAKES to remain faithful to you. I will follow your instructions. I will do what you tell me to do, and go where you tell me to go. I will endure whatever testing comes my way. I will do this, Lord, because I can envision my future with You. I can envision an eternal and spiritual body. I can envision meeting you in the clouds, praising you forever and ever, and casting my crowns at Your feet in order to give you all the glory and praise, for You alone are worthy. Blessings, Jill

Amen and Amen...in the light of eternity this surgery is such a small thing.....We will receive our heavenly bodies and be as God created us to be and created us for...to worship God forever and ever! Thank you Jill for sharing such a wonderful God moment... In Him, Joan M

Dr. Stanley's son preached on his show a week or so ago, and it was on surrender. The Lord is so patient in waiting for me to surrender different aspects of my life. Having this surgery taught me a lot about surrender. It appears that you are learning similar lessons. Hugs, Trish
