Emily took 6 vicodin at school today. She puked them back up. I'm not sure what's going on with her, but clearly, there are problems. I ask for your prayers for her, and for her Dad, me, her brother, and my husband - that we will know what to do. Thank you. Carolyn

Oh Carolyn, I pray she may get evaluated for this. It sounds serious enough to warrant a visit to a psychiatrist. I hope you don't mind my suggesting that. Praying for her and you at this time. Hugs, Trish

Oh Carolyn, I'm so sorry to hear this. Please know that you all are in my thoughts and prayers tonight. I agree too that it is a cry for help. I try to get it across to my dd (17 and a high school senior) often that high school doesn't last forever and if you can just bear through it, then five years from now it won't matter. Very few of their friends now will be friends of theirs in 5 yrs. I know kids can be so cruel to each other and just don't understand why. I also try to stress to dd not to give others the power of control over her. And I know that's easy for me to say but that's what it comes down to often I think. But I know your heart is hurting for her tonight. Give her an extra big hug for me. And keep us posted! Bonita

Thank you all. I had a good chat with Em tonight (she's at her Dads). She said she had a very bad head ache and took the vicodins to help. The vicodins were left over from when she had her wisdom teeth out. I'm not sure that I believe all of what she's saying, but I'm glad she was talking. She has an appointment tomorrow with her psychologist, and I'll call her psychiatrist tomorrow to bring him up to speed. Emily suffers from dysthymia (a form of depression - long term, and usually the importance of treatment is not recognized because it wears on a person - and it has a high rate of attempted suicide). She's supposed to be taking prozac, but admitted to me the other day that she's not. So, now she has to take it with me every day... in front of me. So - bright side - I can skip work tomorrow and spend some time with her. "BRIGHTEST SIDE" = Jesus is on His throne and He has us in His hands!!! Thanks again, and I'll keep you posted. Love to you all - Carolyn

Carolyn...my heart aches for you and Emily....But...as you said God is on the Throne! We live in a time like never before. The enemy knows his time is short and that Jesus could return at any time so he is upping the attacks and what better place than with families. So I will pray for protection for her and her thought life...because that is where he likes to start. And that you and her father would use wisdom and that the Father would expose the truth so you would know what her thoughts are. Also that she would have "the mind of Christ" as the Word says....and not the lies in her mind of the enemy. Also, for you to be trusting the Lord to hold her safe. Love ya fellow Calvary Sister... Thank you Joni. I can't tell you how much that means to me. Emily used to be so on fire for the Lord. She brought so many people to church and led them to the Lord. She has the most amazing singing voice - such a gift from God. Then, a year ago, she walked away all of the sudden. I've prayed that the Lord would do whatever it takes to get her back to the Promise Land and out of the wilderness. I trust that His hand is still on her and that this is part of His works. I know that the enemy's favorite playgrounds are messing with our kids and our marriages. But, I pray the blood of Jesus cover my kids and my marriage, and yours also! Praise God for He is faithful!!! Thanks again - so very much!!! Love ya too! - Carolyn

Dear Carolyn, I am so sad for Emily and you. I know this is a very difficult time for all of you. I was encouraged to know that she is talking to you. That is a major victory right there. When they quit talking, it is hard to know where to begin. We have that issue with our 17 year old. I agree she is crying out for help. You are doing the right thing by watching her take her meds and getting her to a psychiatrist. Lord, right now I want to lift up Carolyn and Emily. I pray that you give Carolyn all of the wisdom she needs in order to help Emily. Please I pray Father that you will open the doors that need to be opened so that Emily's care will go smoothly.I pray that all of the medical professionals that work with Emily will treat her through your direction. I pray that Emily will draw close to you. I pray that she will know that she is chosen by you, holy and dearly loved. I pray that she will not subcomb to the lies of the advisary. Thank you that you love Emily and Carolyn so very much. Bless and protect them both. In Jesus name, Amen. Kim M.
