Strep?.....surgery scheduled for Wednesday!

Help! I have had a fairly severe cold for almost two weeks. I was not able to speak with the surgeon's office for the first week due to a blizzard here (closed businesses all around town), and the holiday. So, finally, on Tuesday, I was able to reach them and they said I could take anything over the counter without a problem. However, now I am coughing up blood at times. I don't have a fever at all, still have an appetite, and have more energy than I had previously. I am running a vaporizer, using saline nasal spray, taking Tylenol Cold medicine, drinking hot tea (often with lemon and/or honey), and almost drowning myself in water. Although the thought of delaying the surgery causes me to be even more sick to my stomache, I do want to be smart about this. Please pray for me!

I am praying for you now...and pray that you well but if there is reason todelay the surgery then I pray you will know that. Could they do culture for strep on Monday just in case? In His name, Joan

Update - I went to after-hours care on Saturday, and was told that my laryngitis was cause by a virus, but that I probably had a bacterial infection as well. So, I am just driving on with the previous over-the-counter meds, but was also prescribed an antibiotic as well. My surgery has been postponed until Jan 24th (pending my overall health), due to the increased risks induced by this crud. Thanks for your prayers!
