Please keep my family in your prayers. My husband was fired yesterday. This is very devastating to us and we honestly do not know what we are going to do. I know God will get us through this but we really need all of your intercessory prayers right now. Please go to the Father on our behalf. Thank you! Shelly

Shel E, I am so very sorry to hear this news and will pray for your family. We have been in the very position and I know how scary it can be. I don't know what we would do without church family. Lean on those who love you and God will see you through this scary time. These are the times that test mens souls it is easier to have faith when things are going well. You will make it and it may even open a door of opportunity. Hugs, Sandyd

Shelly - May God bless you and sustain you through this time! May you have faith in His perfect provisions. May this situation be used to glorify Him! When I lost my job, I wasn't too concerned, because at the time my ex was paying me family support. Two days after I lost mine, he lost his. I was meeting a friend, and as I was driving, there was a huge semi in front of me. It was white with no markings. In the dust on the back doors, someone (Someone) had written In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path. That has been "my" verse since. I found a job within a couple of days. My Ex was out of work for almost 2 years, but God provided... Proverbs 3: Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. My prayers will be with you! ~Carolyn

I have been where you are right now. I am so sorry to hear about your situation, but I am so excited to see how this adversity draws you closer to the Lord. He is doing a great work in your life right now. Embrace it. Don't let fear drive you from it. You are in my prayers today. Here are some things to help you get through this time. Hope for a Women's Soul - Barbara Johnson Some of us are learning that cares are the tools God uses to fashion us for better things. He uses reverses (setbacks) to move us forward. Reverses and cares bow us down low until we finally drop to our knees. But a lot of kneeling keeps us in good standing because it brings us closer to God. Being close to God, we find peace. Even if our cares aren't resolved as we wish and even if we finally have to admit life in this world will never be safe or predictable, we may discover that's becasue we were made for another place. Meditate on God's Word We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. 2 Cor. 4:8-9 Also see: Psalm 42:2,5-6 Job 11:18 A Prayer from the Power of a Praying Wife by Sormie Omartian God, I pray that You will be Lord over my husband's work. May he bring You into every aspect of it. Give him enough confidence in the gifts You've placed in him to be able to seek, find, and do good work. Open up doors of opportunity for him that no man can close. Develop his skills so that they grow more valuable with each passing year. Show me what I can do to encourage him. I pray that his work will be established, secure, successful, satisfying, and financially rewarding. Let him be like a tree planted by the stream of Your living water, which brings forth fruit in due season. May he never wither under pressure, but grow strong and prosper (Psalm 1:3).

I remember the year I was fired so well. It taught me how to rely on the Lord, and put Him first in everything. God is able to provide and promises that He will. Trust Him completely for everything. I will pray, as this time of year is the worst time to be without a paycheck. Hugs, Trish
