Wednesday Coffee Talk

Good Wednesday morning everyone! Boy! Do I feel dumb!! We still have internet at home! Here I am thinking the whole time it has been shut down. I just assumed. I guess you don't assume huh? I'll have to call today and see what is taking them so long. :shurg: I got on the puter to pull up a file I had saved for a class I am teaching tonight and something popped up showing I was conneccted! I said "huh?". Anyways, I'm here. Time to rise and shine!! A new day has dawned! Our challenge today is to simply "be yourself". You can't be me and I can't be you. We can however be the best person in the world. Ourselves. Have you ever tried to act a way that you weren't? Sure you have. We all have. Didn't you feel "fake" in doing so? I know I did! Joie use to say all the time (and you can ask my kids or Lisa Fisher) "I ain't puttin' on no show for no body"! And she meant it. What you saw is what you got. That's the only way to be in life. Be yourself. You will go far in life and rack up on the friends if you will just be who you are and not try to be a fake person. The person that God made you to be! So! Anyone else up at this "crack of the day" hour!?? What cha sippin' on? Me? I'm sipping on Hazelnut cream this morning and man is this stuff good. Gotta love variety! Hi Randall. I am sippin' on water. Gotta try to get this stuff in. Sure wish I could find a warm drink that has 0 cal, 0 carb, 0 everything but tastes great and isn't coffee. Just not my thing. I may have to start scoping out different caffine free teas to find one I really like. It's a cold rainy day here but quite honestly a nice fall day. I miss California weather but I sure do enjoy the different seasons. Kinda neat. Being myself is the only way I know how to be. Oh, I have borrowed from other people in my life from time to time. Some of those things stuck and others had to go cuz they just weren't me. Now I challenge my kids to be themselves. They are pretty good at that. It's tough at their ages (14 & 17) but they do pretty good. Please pray for Meghan, my 14 yr old. She is having a tough time at school. She is very vocal about her beliefs and morals. Last week she talked to a "friend" of hers about how the friends cussing and "flipping off" of people was not nice and she should try to be nice and that the language was not nice either. The girl proceeded to cuss at Meghan and flip her off again and again, thinking this was funny. Well, the next day, the girl told Meghan that she was going to try really hard to be nice that day at school. So after school Meghan (thinking the girl was serious) asked if being nice went well for her. The girl started in with her language and finger, etc. and then she and another girl began to taunt Meghan. The girl slapped and kicked Meghan and even tried to kick her in the face while the other girl was poking her in her side really hard. What it boils down to is bullying. Well, Meghan told the bus driver what happened and she said she didn't see anything. So then the girl was saying that she was going to beat Meghan up and so she told the principal. The principal had the nerve to tell Meghan that if the other girls language and finger was not directed at Meghan then she didn't have a right to tell her to stop. WHAT? She has to listen to this girl (cuz she can't get away from her on the bus) and Meghan doesn't have the right to ask her to stop? And the girl didn't get into trouble for physically hurting Meghan. I have to talk to the principal but I am sure I'll get nowhere with it. Just doesn't seem right. Anyway, I am sorry to take up the thread with this kind of post. Please just keep Meghan in your prayers. She witnesses about Jesus all the time and I know this is just persecution for it. Pray that this other girl gets caught by an adult for her mouth and actions. I think that only if an adult actually catches her misbehaving that something will be done. Thanks for listening.
