These are the verses my mom was upset were quoted at my brother's funeral. She was afraid that some people would be offended because they are Catholic, and she is works oriented. I personally love these verses, because they assure me that I can't do it, but faith can. Hugs, Trish

Thanks so much Sandy. Trish - I agree - these are the very verses that show us humility. No matter what we do, we cannot earn and we don't deserve the grace and mercy shown to us in the person of Jesus Christ. These words pierce the hearts of those who don't know Him, and understand what He did. There's a song out there with a line in it about trying to deserve what we've already been given. How silly are we to sometimes think that we "deserve" the grace and unfailing love of Jesus? I hope you have a blessed day with His love at the center of every thought, word and deed! ~Carolyn
