It's Friday, it's Friday, hey everyone it's Friday!! I hope you are up, at 'em, and ready to go! It's going to be a WONDERFUL day today! Time to RISE and SHINE people! Our challenge for today is to "Not be driven by materialism". We as humans, at some point in our lives, feel the "Need To Aquire". We need to let that need be fed properly. Aquire the proper things like wisdom, understanding, love, integrity. Most people feed that "need to aquire" with material things. Homes, cars, money, perfect jobs, clothes all these things are wonderful, but learn to be content. There was once a saying that said, "He who dies with the most toys dies happy". What a sad statement to live by. He who dies with integrity and love dies happy! It's not about material possesions. Nice as they are, life is about giving and showing LOVE! Aquire LOVE today, not materialism! SO! Who's up? What cha sipping on? ME? I'm sipping on Toasted Almond coffee this a.m. and what a great cup of joe it is! Really good on this cool morning! We are to hit the 40's in the a.m. here in Alabama! WOO HOO! Have a blessed, wonderful, and non-material day! Randall

Good Morning Randall! That is a good one. I am constantly reminding myself that things of this world is not what is important. We cannot take them with us. I've been up since about 5:45 am eastern time and have been drinking Millstone's Bed and Breakfast blend coffee. It is actually good. It is a medium dark roast, my favorite. I always drink mine with splenda and creamer. I am getting ready to take my girls to school and then head to Curves. Oh, I've also had my quiet time this morning. Our ladies' bible study group is doing a Beth Moore study on Paul. So far it is really good. I just pray I can glean everything out of it that God wants me to. It has started off a beautiful cool day here, I hope it stays that way. I pray all have a wonderful weekend. Shel

Good morning Randall, Matthew 6:25-34 helps me keep material things in the proper perspective. You have a great day. Hugs, Sandyd 25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? 26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? 27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? 28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: 29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? 31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? 32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. 33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. 34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. (NASV)

Morning Randall. Thank you for today's challenge. It is so easy to get into materialism. I have to remind myself that "things" won't bring me joy, only know and loving the Lord will bring me true joy. I am thankful that my children are learning and accepting this as well. I have two teenager daughters and they could so easily be into things and name brands and such. They are not. It is a blessing that they are content in this way at such a young age. It took me awhile longer to be content so I am glad the Lord gave us wisdom to teach our children early. Water, water, water. Today is a cool day and the cold water is giving me chills. I am gonna have to find another way to get in my water during the winter. Otherwise I'll not drink it at all and that is not good. Have a wonderful weekend. Hugs, Robin

Good Morning Randall, I slept in again. I have to work on my materialism. I feel so inferior to my exhusband because he has a nice new house and I still live in an apartment. He travels all over the world, and I can't afford to leave the state. But, that is envy and that is sin. I am a work in progress. I am sipping on my decaf diet iced tea. Have a great weekend. Hugs, Trish
