Thank God for this board I found at this moment as I am consumed by discouagement. I had surgery on Tuesday adn came home Friday evening (several hours ago.) My pain is excruciating to me but considered normal. I have GAINED over 10 pounds and am completely filled with gas and belly fluid---I look several months pregnant. My husband is frustrated but trying to help. I am estranged from a dear best and family friends-- just THursday they went to great lengths to cause me hurt and pain via e-mail just as I was believing they wanted to reconcile. They are believers. I am crushed. I am beside myself with pain and wondering what I did to myself and my family. I have no idea what to do. I would be eternally grateful for your support. ~Katrina L

Katrina, I just want you to know that I am praying for you. About the best thing you can do for yourself as far as gas and fluid is walk as much as you possibly can and drink as much water as you can to flush those fluids out. Did the doctor send you home with any type of pain meds? If he did, take them. If he did not, call him. It has been a while since I had surgery, but I did walk as much as I possibly could and I kep****er beside me all the time and just sipped. As far as your friends, just continue to pray for them and the situation. God will get you through this. Shel

Hi Katrina Take your pain meds and all the other meds they discharged you with. If doc did not give you discharge meds, call him immediately and tell him about the pain and the gas. I take GasX for the gas, and doc ordered pain meds and Pepcid for me. I gained 16 pounds in the hospital. Don't worry, you will lose it. Keep sipping water, or liquids, and walking. Walking will also help you with the gas. I will pray for you concerning the relationship problems. That must be painful. Hugs, Trish

Oh Katrina, I am so very sorry you are having all this pain and loss right now. People sometimes let us down but God is faithful. The first few days after surgery can be very hard. Walking helps tremendously for the gas. Please take whatever pain medication you were given or call the doctor and get some because you need it. You can come to this sight and get support and we will pray for you and your family. Also, your hormones will be out of whack for a while and things will seem a lot worse to you. Just know that day by day it will get better if you keep walking and try to get in all your fluids. If you get a chance listen to the song I have on my profile. It reminds me what I am suppose to do when things are more than I can handle. Here is a big {{{{{{{{{{{{HUG}}}}}}}}}}}}}. Take care. Sandyd
