"You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven. "- Matthew 5:14,16 Today's passage is from the New International Version. Hugs, Sandyd

Thank you Sandy. We are studying the Sermon on the Mount right now, and our pastor was teaching on this verse a couple of weeks ago. He stressed to us that it's the Holy Spirit inside of us that makes us shine, and that we don't have to run in circles "trying to shine." It was all the Spirit. My husband and I talked today about going to Israel next March with our church group. I was there last year and my husband didn't come with me. We were in a very bad place last year - separated even. He was supposed to come with, but then chose not to. I was truly sad that he didn't share that experience with me, and now, we have the change to go again. Now, we do not have the money to go, so we've prayed in earnest that the Lord would provide if we are meant to go. Yes, we've heard that there is a war going on, and yet, we both feel compelled to go. It's a funny thing, and the world thinks us crazy, but the Lord knows the number of my days and if I'm to die on a certain day, it won't matter where I am. Tourism is the number 1 source of income for the Israeli's, and we want to show our love and support. So, we're praying for His provisions if we're to go. Interesting... The day has been good. My best friend is terribly sick (MS) and we went over after church and praying with her. We talked about the necessity of God, and sometimes, when I don't NEED God, I forget Him and His word - so, praise the Lord, He puts me in a space where I am always feeling a deep NEED for Him. Blessings come in the strangest of packages... Well - I'm off to get ready for our evening service. Thanks again! - Carolyn

Carolyn, If you are meant to go to Israel, then the Lord will provide the funds. Your willingness to go, even during the war, is a testimony of your love for the Lord and His Chosen People. Praying for your plans to come to fruition. Hugs, Trish
