Tuesday coffee talk
Good evening Randall,
Sorry I did not get the challenge till this late. I just spent a wonderful day celebrating my daughter's 30th birthday with her friends and in-laws in Michigan. God has blessed me wtih three wonderful children, and I tried to raise them to love the Lord. My daughter is the only one who loves and serves Him. I keep praying for my sons.
Compromise is something I see so much of in my sons. Back in February, I applied for a License to practice Social Work from my state. It asked if I had been addicted to drugs or alcohol in the past five years. Well, five years ago, I relapsed in my alcholism recovery after my husband walked out on me and filed for divorce. I struggled for a few months, and finally stopped drinking again in September 2001. In filling out the application, I was briefly tempted to lie. What were a few months? But, I told myself, and the enemy, that I had not worked as hard as I did in graduate school, and seen God perform miracles in my life, to get my license dishonestly. When I told my youngest son, he scoffed and said, "You should have lied." It took me five months, and a drug and alcohol screening, and a lot of phone calls to Harrisburg, to get the mess straightened out, but last week, I received my license, and I am so glad I did it honestly.
Randall, you said you are back in the Church office. Are you a pastor?
His Child,
Trish
Hey Trish! I'm so glad you were able to celebrate with your daughter. I wanted to let you know how you just blessed me! I'm so glad that you didn't compromise and that you stood for your honesty! See how God rewarded you? He's so awesome! CONGRATULATIONS to you too! That's so awesome that you got your license!
No. I'm not a Pastor, but I am a lay minister. Also the church secretary. I love working for God.
I love the way you signed this....."His Child"! AMEN!!
