New Friends??
Hi Everyone,
I was just wondering how others have handled this situation or how it made you feel. I've got some new friends as of recently, and I mean like in the last 2-3 months and it just seems kind of strange to me. I've known these woman the entire time we have lived here in the last 2 + years and they are just starting to talk to me and invite me to lunch and to parties and do things with them. What is that about? I was talking to a lady who just recently joined our church and she didn't believe me that I've lost 118#'s so I showed her my before picture and one of the other ladies there who I've gone to church with for 2 yrs. asked to see the picture and she said that she doesn't remember me that way. How is that possible? Its what I looked like when we met, and attended church together for a year before my surgery. I'm not sure if I'm just being a little to sensitive or what.
How did you all handle it? Thank you for your help.
Take care,
Loni
Hi Loni. First of all, congratulations on your weight loss of 118lbs. THat is fantastic!
As for your situation, I haven't experienced that yet, but I have noticed that I am more outgoing and more bold with new people, and even those I have known for awhile but not been friends with. Maybe you are also opening up and blossoming more so others are approching you more often. As for the gal at church that doesn't remember you, I am just not sure about that one. The other post had a nice point of view on that one.
I hope that your new friends are true and real. I have wondered if we will find that others are "friendlyier" or more willing to befriend us afte our weight loss. I don't want to sound paranoid or anything like that but I do wonder.
Keep enjoying your new self.
Hugs, Robin
