Topic: RE: What size : new breasts?????
I would like to help but I am a little unclear? You have had a mastectomy? I am assuming you have but implants arent in yet? Remember that if you have had a mast. you don't have the chest wall of a standard woman so implants fit into muscle pockets( or similiar depending on surgery) I have largest implants they will put in . They do not appear large because they are far beneath the skin. I hope this helps a little you can feel free to ask me any questions -Lynn

yay! finally a question I can answer.  I had a mastectomy 6 years ago and got my breasts reconstructed a year ago when I weighed 278.  I weigh just under 170 now and my largest implants are 36Cs now and if I lose this last 25 lbs they'll be D's.  However they don't sag and don't bounce.  I'm happy with them.

Topic: RE: Anyone with reconstruction after mammosite radiation?
What the plastic surgeons are concerned about is how the radiated skin will heal after plastics. It is at a much higher risk of not healing and getting infections.

Consequently, my plastic surgeon will be very conservative. No more cutting than absolutely necessary. I will be going ahead and having plastics done this Friday.

Good luck to you. I hope you find the answers you are looking for.

I had my plastic surgery consultation just yesterday. I got the same song-n-dance about the Dr. worrying about healing after having had radiation.  I have waited a year after the last rad. treatment. Surely I have healed by now. BUT, perhaps they are worried that radiated skin responds DIFFERENTLY than "healthy" skin.  WHY don't the Dr's. just explain their reasons better to us????
I just contacted my Dr about this. Could you do this, too?  Good luck, and Best Wishes!!!

I have lost 178 lbs. since my RNY. I am near goal weight. I was VERY large breasted for years before the weight loss. I went for my consultation with the plastic sergeon. He sugested going for a size "B" cup WITHOUT implants. My question is: has anyone else gone down so much smaller? I am thinking that a size "C" cup with an implant would go best with my frame. Could the surgeon just be trying to do what is easier for him, and not really what is best for me and my future life?
Have other AMOS breast cancer survivors had reconstruction without implants?

Topic: Cushings Syndrome finally diagnosed
Hi there!

I am 23 days post-op Lap RNY. On day 19 I was diagnosed by my Endocrinologist at UAB's Kirklin Clinic with Cushings Syndrome.

I have always suspected that I had it- For the past 4 yrs, I have been experiencing every symptom that you can have, but my 24 hr urine tests always came back as in the high normal range.

In August of 2009, I begged for the Dexamethasome Cortisol Surpression Test! All of the previous Dr's told me if I would just lose weight all of my symptoms would go away because Cushings is sooo RARE that it was so very unlikely that I would be the one in a million that had it...

So, here I am Gastric Bypass RNY POST-OP with my anatomy permanently changed to come to find out that I was right and that my weight gain, is indeed, caused  somewhat by the tiny tumor I have inside me on either my pituitary or adrenal gland.

If anyone has any advice or info on this Disease I would very much appreciate your letting me read your wisdom on the subject...

If YOU HAVE CUSHINGS PLEASE RESPOND and become my OH 'friend' so we can go through this together.

Thanks in advance for your taking the time to reply.

TAKE CARE and may God Bless you...
  Take care,

Topic: RE: HELP i need some input please.....
Hi Chatty53,
I know this is a late posting. I'm justing getting into this site.

I had uteran cancer and a complete hysterectomy a year ago last May. At about 80 pounds overweight.

I do hope that you have sought a second opinion and that you have had the surgery. My prognosis with chemotherapy has been very good.

I'm thinking good thoughts for you!

Topic: Mastectomy
I am sure this has been posted before but haven't seen it yet? I had Breast cancer , followed by 4 rounds of chemo. From there I had a bilateral mastectomy, with immediate reconstruction and silicone implants  I am just wondering considering I have largest implants they put in breast cancer patients(800cc total) what it looked like after weight loss. I am imaging my chest looking extremely large (maybe hoping too). I am just wondering if anyone had any experience with this. I still have alot of aches in the chest area....any other input?
