If you don't get a biopsy on the 17th, I'm sure you'll have to wait on your RnY until they get a definitive diagnosis.
Hang in there...I hope everything turns out fine for you and that it's benign.

My RNY was supposed to be Aug 23 but when my gall bladder was removed July 22 the surgeon did an EGD at the same time and found a nodule in my esophagus. I had it biopsied this past Tuesday and results really didn't tell much. I have to have an esophageal ultrasound this Tuesday Aug 17 to see how deep it goes and most likely to get more of a biopsy. The doctor who did the biopsy says that it's very small and thinks it's probably benign but can't be sure until more tests and I'll most likely have to have the tumor removed. How long will this push out my RNY? Anyone else out there with this same thing? How did it turn out? Was it benign or malignant? Did they end up finding more than the one tumor?

On April 1st, 2008 I was finishing up my first year in college when I was diagnosed with Non Hodgkins Lymphoma. I went through chemotherapy and lost all of my hair. Rather than wearing a wig I proudly walked around with my head held high - and bald.
I hope your treatment is very effective and uneventful (well, as uneventful as chemo can be). Hang in there--it's not unusual for survivors to have lots of drama right around diagnosis and treatment time.

In regards to cobra, there is a new government subsidy that will take care of 2/3 of the bill. Look into that before you sign any contracts with them!
Good luck, good health, and god bless you.

Over about the past 6 months I have noticed a hard lump/area under my naval. I am morbidly obese and carry most of my weight on my stomach particularly lower down. This hard area now makes my stomach point down and it is slightly red. Sizewise it is about 4 inches across and down maybe more. I am pre-op and weigh 26st 6lb.
When I first noticed this I thought it was because I had been sitting studying on a hard chair and my stomach had chafed. I was so busy I pretty much ignored it. However I have become very tired and have started having tests. i thought I should check this out and actually on examination it appears that it is not just the skin hardening but internally and there are some smaller (large spot size lumps) on this area.
Any idea what this could be? Anyone who is or was very obese experienced this - really worried.
Friday afternoon he calls me in his office and says he is letting me go as I am no longer a fit for the company. I have been there for 7 years. I was the only employee for almost a year. I helped grow the company from $5 million a year to almost $17 million. I asked him how I could no longer have any value. He just shrugged his shoulders and said it is what it is. They are offering me a severance package but all I know at this point is they are continuing my insurange for 3 months. Big Whoop! I'm just beginning chemo which will last 3 months alone. I guess I'll have to go on cobra after the 3 months.
I used to have tremendous respect for my boss and we were good friends as well. His father died unexpectedlt last year and he got very cold hearted. I think he is upset brcause I can't be there for him as I have my own issues to deal with. I want to sue the pants off of him and may just do that. I'll wait until after the severance runs out first!
