Well first of all, primary brain cancer isn't staged, so I assume you mean grade four which would be glioblastoma multiforme. That's the most deadly form of brain cancer. If she had surgery and IF they removed the entire tumor, her chances of living a few years is much greater than if they could only debulk it. I've not known any with gbm that temodar worked on for long. They usually end up in clinical trials. PCV and/or avastin seems to give a little more time...
I was on temodar while getting rads for 6 weeks. Lost hair where rad**** thyroid swelled because it wa**** with rads, so my risk of thyroid cancer just increased. I have a spot on my head where surgery was that hair won't regrow. Temodar after rads was a much higher dose and made me extreeeemly fatigued. Many patients' blood panels drop and chemo has to be postponed, but mine was always normal. Zofran was a lifesaver for me. I just took it before my chemo and never threw up once. I ran out and forgot to refill my zofran once, so I took another anti nausea and threw up for 5 hours straight. This September 1 will be my 2 yr anniversary since my surgery.
Where did she say she refused surgery? And how do you know what stage she is in unless you are her treating physician?
Geez, if you have trouble empathizing with someone newly diagnosed with cancer, I shudder to think of how you treat the rest of the world. She isn't to blame for getting cancer and seems to be following the doctor's treatment plan.
OP, I wish you well and hope you sail through treatment.
I think the best thing to do is leave it curly until it gets longer. Maybe put something to make the curls fuller and it'll look nice.
Thyroid cancer develops in your thyroid, a butterfly-shaped gland located at the base of your neck, just below your Adam's apple. Although your thyroid gland is small, it produces hormones that regulate every aspect of your metabolism, from your heart rate to how quickly you burn calories.
Sometimes you may develop one or more solid or fluid-filled lumps called nodules in your thyroid. Most of these are noncancerous (benign) and cause no symptoms. But a small percentage are cancerous (malignant). Serious complications are possible in thyroid cancer.
The prognosis is often excellent for thyroid cancer. The most common types of thyroid cancer can often be completely removed with surgery. But the important first step is to know the symptoms of thyroid cancer and see your doctor.
The tricky thing about a problematic thyroid is that many of the symptoms that may result from hyperthyroidism or hypothyroidism are easy to dismiss as non symptoms or as the result of some other condition or lifestyle factor. For example, weight gain -- a symptom of hypothyroidism -- is a common problem. Many people experience weight gain as they age and usually attribute it to such factors as a reduction in activity levels or an increase in calorie intake. Few people would think that their weight gain -- particularly unexplained weight gain -- could be a potential sign of an underlying thyroid problem.
Cancer is absolutely visible on endoscopy, but it isn't always evident to the endoscopist what it is. Gastritis isn't always easy to see.
So from what you are saying, there are two possibilities here:
1) The biopsy shows inflammation (gastritis)
2) the biopsy shows normal mucosa.
There is no reason to worry about cancer.
EDIT TO ADD
A very important thing to also take into consideration is the clinical situation. In your case the endoscopy was done as part of the work up on suspected IBS. This is a completely different situation than an endoscopy done as part of work up for symptoms raising more or less strong suspicion of cancer. The combination of suspected IBS and normal appearing endoscopy further support that cancer is not a diagnosis for you to worry about.
I just found out I have stage two breast cancer just started chemo this past week. I feel very blessed to have caught it just now and know I am in the best of care with a good group of doctors and family and friends to support me through this all....
A) The kidneys are the urine producing organs that sit under the ribcage in the lower back. Cancer starts when a cell in a part of the body start to grow out of control abnormal cells. Sometimes cancer cells spread to the other part of the body. There are begin to grow and form new tumors. This process is called metastasis. There are many kidney cancers are found early, while they are still only in the kidney. But others are found at a more advance stage.
B) Some reasons why kidney cancer may not be found early.
1. The cancer can grow quite large without causing any pain or problems.
2. Small kidney cancers can't be seem felt during physical exam. Because, The kidneys are deep inside the body.
3. There are no good screening tests to look for kidney cancer in people who are not at increased risk.
C) Symptoms of Kidney Cancers:
1. Blood in urine
2. A lump in the area of the kidney.
3. Tiredness.
4. Fever with sweating.
5. A pain or ache in the lower back or side

Colon cancer is when some cells in the colon malfunction and a distortion or mutation occurs in the replication of cells. That mutation then duplicates and on it goes except these cells are abnormal and start developing a source of nutrition by forming blood sources nearby and taking over the organism. This group of cells will then form a blob or tumor, the tumor will probably ulcerate and that bleeding will cause anemia. The cancer can develop anywhere in the colon and can form from a small growth called a polyp.
Breast cancer develops as a result of abnormal growth in the cells in the inner breast or due to some abnormal changes produced in the tissues connecting the breast.
The best way to deal with breast cancer before being diagnosed and after is to be completely knowledgeable about how dangerous breast cancer. Educating yourself about its symptoms, signs and causes can help you detect it early and also avoid it. With every woman being at the risk of getting this cancer.
There are common signs or symptoms of breast cancer :
1. The most obvious sign of this ailment is a lump in the breast or armpit. A self-examination test, once a month, or a visit to the doctor can expose any lump in this area.
2. Change in the size of the breast & shape. If you notice any unusual changes in its shape or size, do not ignore it.
3. There is nipple inversion & spontaneous single nipple discharge. If you observe that your nipples are turning inwards, this may be an indication that everything is not working as well.
4. Pain in the breast is not a reliable symptom but can also be indicative of other breast problems.
