Hypoglycemia control following radiation and chemotherapy

I had hypoglycemia prior to my WLS but was able to control it with diet. Following surgery, I did good at controlling it especially with the protein focused diet. I was diagnosed with cancer at about 2 1/2 months out from WLS and at exactly 3 months out I had head and brain surgery for the cancer. At 3 months and 3 weeks out from WLS I began 7 weeks of radiation and chemotherapy. Throughout the treatment I ate constantly because of the threats that if I lost any weight during treatment, they may discontinue treatment. Following treatment, I have been unable to reduce my eating back to my post WLS and pre-cancer schedule. My hypoglycemia is out of control and I am having to eat every 2 to 3 hours to avoid my blood sugar dropping to the point of not being able to function well. Any suggestions?

I'm not talking from experience here, as I have never been hypoglycenic.  FWIW, my first thought is eating high protein as much as possible.  That seems to regulate blood sugar and still allows you to eat every couple of hours (the schedule you have gotten used to?) and not load up on calories.  Protein just seems to satisfy me better than veggies or carbs - although I always WANT carbs.  LOL HTH some. Best wishes Kim
