There are no reputable surgeons that do the bpd. The bpd-ds is what we also call the DS, and they are not the same at all.

I wish they'd have named it differently so it wouldn't be so confusing.

I usually head straight for the DS board.  I thought the BPD by itself was no longer done.

Are they still doing this, or is it really BPD/DS?

I am having a similar issue.  I was ok for the first 2 weeks, and I switched to the puree phase yesterday and ive been nauseous ever since.  I know the two anti-nausea pills worked but i would recommend calling the doctor in the morning.... thats what i am going to do.... but until then just stick to clears! good luck and feel better soon

Hello, Newbie! I just had the DS on March 15 (10 wks. out) and they gave me a nausea patch to put on my ear the first 3 days out; I now have some nausea, when I eat the wrong things or eat too fast or too much.  Other that that, I no longer get it.  Exercise helped a lot, as did a lot of fluids...water especially.

Talk to your Dr. and maybe he will give you the nausea patch...and it will get you through, hopefully!

Good Luck...be patient...all shall pass...it just takes time, perserverance and for me, prayer helped! :)

I won't give the whole history on the surgery name, but it is stupidly confusing!

If you have the BPD with the DS, then you have the DS (also called BPD-DS).

The BPD without the DS, is just called a BPD, and isn't really done anymore. You don't want the old BPD.

I'm over 5 years out from my DS, and couldn't be happier. Go over to the DS board, since that is what you actually have, and welcome.

So I am 9 weeks out from my surgery.  I noticed that there is a BPD forum and then a DS forum.  I had the BPD with the DS?  So is there a forum for us people?

Hi - you can go to vitalady's website or to the ds website and someone can help you there or ds facts also has a list if you look around a bit.

Nov. 14/2005 I have reached the 10 year mark and I am very glad I had this surgery and can live a normal life.
