BPD and normal bowel movements
Gerry-I had BPDDS in 2002, & had diarrhea with severe flatulence, abdominal bloating , cramping every day since until just a few weeks ago. I actually conquered it accidentally, but now that I know the cure, I want to scream it to everyone. I decided to try The South Beach Diet as I need to lose about 30 lbs. it requires you to only eat meat and veggies the first 2 weeks (no bread, pasta, potatoes, rice, fruit of any kind). You may slowly reintroduce these the 3rd week. But after 2 days with none of those foods, my GI system and BMs were NORMAL! And they continued until I ate a sandwich 2 weeks later! So, after research , I have figured out that the malabsorption properties of my DS (I have 4 feet of functioning small intestine), forced me into having Gluten-Intolerance. Bad that I have to limit bread, pasta, pizza, all that, but good that I now know I can feel normal with certain dietary changes. Maybe this would help you.
