BPD and normal bowel movements
My. sister had the same surgery in 2005, she has had terrible problems from the surgery, loose BMs, really smelly flatus, anemia. She too regrets the surgery. I dont know if there is any revised surgery that can be done. You had 3/4 of your stomach removed, along with a great amount of your intestines. What has your surgeon told you?
I had the lap-band 4 years ago.
I hope your surgeon can help you.

daughter just underwent a BPD reversal due to malabsorbtion issues for now going on 2 yrs. She originally had the RNY precedure but regained alot of her weight. The doctor did this precedure and it did shed her unwanted regained pounds, but she became so sick and protein levels dropped like crazy. She began to swell from ademia as well. The reversal was done and the common channel put back in place to where she will now absorb again. The scary part is now that she has become so used to basically eating like a horse all day, she will now have to go back and eat sensibly with only protein and very little carbs and fat. She does have a lapband also intact in "case" she should really begin to creep back up the scales at this point. She will be taking in 100 gms of protein a day then dropping that to 60-80 eventually. I pray that this precedure now that has been reversed will allow her to absorb again. Did not do the DS with the precedure........I hope that this will bring about alot of feedback as we don't know of anyone else out there that has been through this precedure........most others have had the BPD/DS...........major difference........thanks for letting me post on here.
I had a DS so I cannot specifically say, but I find for me that too much fat and I am pooping yogurt poops. I have not had a really solid poop in over 2 years. The balance between too much fat and not enough fat is the difference between loose poops and constipation. Frankly, the loose poops are easier to deal with. I had a lot of post op complications, but even though I had a lot of crap happen to me I'm really happy with my surgery. I poop a lot, about 12 times a day, but by the same token I've lost a LOT of weight and would gladly rather poop a lot and loose than be fat and have solid poops. It's all a trade off you know?

I had the same surgery and didn't have this problem until my gall bladdar was removed. Talked to my gastro guy and he told me to take Imodium regularly I take 1 in am and 1 in pm along with a probiotic which helps with odor. No more problems at all, regular movements. Of course you should always include fiber in your diet as well.
