Any Iris Johanson book is awesome. You can't go wrong with her. Make sure you start with her older ones though as her newer ones are kinda falling apart....

Gosh, Roz, I don't know...I have concentration problems because I have fibromyalgia, and sometimes have to just put it down for while, but I just stick in there! Jeffery Deaver, Stuart Woods, Robert Parker, Mary Higgins Clark (and her daughters), Janet Evanovich, Catherine Coulter's FBI series (The Edge, Blindside, etc), Ridley Pearson, and Charlaine Harris all come to mind. There are so many others...Have you read Alice Sebold's (sp) "These Lovely Bones" or Nevada Barr's books? They are kind of short. I also highly recommend John Grisham's latest book, "The Last Juror". I absolutely could not put it down, and I am not a Grisham fan since he published "The Client", which I loved. After a long dry spell, he has redeemed himself. It is really good.
I hope I have been of some help. Please let me know if I can do anything else. I'll keep you in mind as I check books.

I just love James Patterson. I am now reading Big Bad Wolf and 3rd Degree will be nest on my list. I get interrupted a lot while I read so I especially like the short chapters. Can you suggest other mystery authors that write with short chapters like that?

working at the local library, I found two books that were excellent for those who could use a good book (with a little sadness, but happy underneath). "P.S., I Love You" by Cynthia Ahearn, and "On a Night Like This" by Ellen Sussman.
Mystery-wise, I just finished "The Amber Room" by Steve Berry, and
"3rd Degree" by James Patterson. They were both great. I'm getting ready to start Nevada Barr's new one, and then I'm going to drop back down and read Mary Kay Andrew's two books (I didn't realize she was Kathy Hogan Trocheck, a mystery writer from Atlanta). Recuperation from surgery is so nice when you have plenty to read.
Here's to reading...
