Topic: RE: The Beck Diet Solution ~ Day 1
I heard it takes something like 27 days to form a new habit.
Topic: RE: books
I looove to read. I always have a book that I'm reading and if I go too long without reading, I actually go through withdrawal.
My faves are the classics, and I have to have romance. Yes, I admit it, I like the Twilight saga. I love Jane Austin, the Bronte sisters, Charles Dickens, and I've recently discovered Elizabeth Gaskell. I have many other favorites but if I listed them all you'd die of boredom.
Did you know that you can read the classics online? Anything that is over 75 years old no longer has a copyright to worry about and can be out there for anyone to read. The website is www.online-literature.com,
I like this because when I go to the library, I'm like a kid in a candy store and I always bring home too many books. Inevitably, I forget to renew them or return them on time and I end up with huge library fines. One of these days I'm going to be arrested because of these fines.
Since you are a fan of mysteries, I read a detective gumshoe type mystery years ago that I really liked and I can't remember the name or the author. I remember that the main character was this overweight detective who ate food straight out of a can while standing over his sink. That's really all I remember of it? Are you familiar with this?

I loved A Tale of Two Cities. It is a hard read though. I read it about five years ago and if I remember correctly, the man who marries the daughter has to go back to France for some reason (can't remember) and ends up imprisoned there. That's how the story moves to France.
I actually learned a lot about the French Revolution from this story.

Topic: RE: Stephenie Meyer and the Twilight Saga
I am finished new moon and is waiting for my daughter to finishe the last 20 pages of eclipse. She is a sloooow reader. But she told me that she is savoring the last few pages. To tell the truth I understand but I am going to disown her if she don't finish so I can start dreaming of vampire love. It is a shame but I want a vampire boyfriend. Call me crazy if you want but the town of Forks have some sexy monsterlike men in there town. LOL

Topic: Any Chuck Palahniuk fans?
Hello,
Just wondering if there are any other Chuck fans out there. I have read almost all of his books (I can't seem to get into Snuff or Pygmy) and I haven't even cracked the cover of Tell All, but I plan on reading them all in the next few months. I'm looking for more authors that have a similar writing style...or maybe not even a similar style, just something equally entertaining.
I'm taking suggestions!

Topic: The Beck Diet Solution ~ Day 9
Sorry for not posting last night, but I couldn't even load OH!! My Internet connection was soo dang laggy.
But, never fear! I have done this lesson and now posting! hehe
This one is about exercise!
You should have two types. One that you have planned and one that is spontaneous.
Spontaneous:
How can you in your every day life get in more exercise and be more active? Park farther away when you go shopping. Walk several minutes before actually shopping, like window shopping before you actually buy or load your basket.
Get early to appointments and walk around the building
Take the stairs at your work, or park at the far end of your parking lot every day.
Take every item up to your second floor right then and there, rather then waiting til you have a stack or pile and taking them all up at once.
Planned:
This is your gym work out, running/jogging programs. Exercise dvds at home. Swimming. Setting up the days and times to do these things.
So, here are my spontaneous and planned:
Spontaneous:
Walking each day to check the mail, any time during the day.
Parking at the far end of the parking lot when I go shopping.
Walking to my kids school when I need to go there.
Planned:
My C25K every week day
walking the dog 30 minutes morning & evening
30 day shred DvD every three days
Weight training every Tues.
WE HAVE THE POWER, THE WILL, AND THE DESIRE TO HAVE THE LIFE, BODY, AND HEALTH THAT WE DESERVE!!
