I also am waiting for her new Merry Gentry book. I went to the web site and read the first 2 chapters from the new book. Sounds like another good read. Yes, it is a bit risky, but a different take on fairies is good. lizzi

Topic: RE: Anyone out there a Diane Gabaldon fan?
Glad to hear from another fan. I went to her web site and saw that her new book is due out 9-27-05. I know for me this is a wonderful thing. As a matter of fact, I just lent the first book in the series to a co-worker who showed an interest in the topic. So, we just may have another fan to add to our list. Lizzi

Hi Lizzie, Just found this forum today and have to say that I am a great fan of her books. I have only had the chance to read the first two books and started the third so far (I currently went back to school and haven't had much time to read but will be graduating in the next three weeks YEAH!) One of the first things on my agenda after graduation will be to pick up where I left off in the series. Can't wait!! Because of her novels, I have been learning about Scotland history and want so much to visit there. If all goes well, I will be visiting Scotland this August. I am very excited. Liz Goodwine

Have you read the reissued books she wrote for Loveswept and Second Chance at Love? They were all funny too. She also wrote under another name and to save me I can't think of it right now. Will post again when I do.

It doesnt have to do with wieght loss but it is about an over wieght girl who over comes many problems in her life. Its called " She's Come Undone" by Wally Lamb. It is an excellent book! You would expect it to have been written by a woman. Try it out. Its a good book and keeps you interested. karen

Topic: any book suggestions?
can anyone suggest any books that pertain to the psychological aspects of the drastic weight loss that comes along with weight loss surgery? i've heard there are books out there that address how one still sees themself as 'fat' although they have lost tons of weight. i would love to read more about it. thanks in advance for any replies! monet *down 131lbs in 7 months

Topic: RE: Any Anne Rice readers out there?
hello fellow anne rice readers.... i am a "closet" anne rice fan. most of my friends distain her work. i hate to admit it but she is my most read author. i just finished her "blood canticle." i did not read blackwood farms so maybe i missed something--but i followed blood canticle with no problem. that said, it isn't my fav. of her work. i enjoyed the vampire chronicles and some of the vampire books that came out after it; in particular armand and blood and gold. i read 2 of the mayfield witch books but did not want to get sucked into that world. i knew she was going to cross the two and so i was NOT suprised when merrick arrived on the scene. i miss louis......he was one of my fav. characters. lestat gets on my nerves. if any of you understood memnoch, please get in touch w/me. i just never understood it and i can't discuss it with anyone as most of the people i know have not read it or just took it on face value. i'm sure there more there than meets the eye. for me it was a strange book and i would love to discuss it w/a fellow fan. cheers!
