Topic: Jane Austen fans?
I just finished Sense & Sensibility. I didn't like it as well as Pride & Prejudice. I was a little disappointed. Am I the only one? I haven't yet read Emma, but I bought a used copy and will get to it as soon as I finish the my current book club book.

Topic: RE: Anyone out there a Diane Gabaldon fan?
Oh yay! I didn't know there was another coming out yet. Thanks for the update. I have all the books on my shelf, and I too felt like I'd lost my friends when the last one was read.

ooooooooo...I was gonna suggest the "Outlander" series myself, if someone hadn't already mentioned Diana Gabaldon. Those are awesome! Especially if you like books in series....they're neverending. I gave away my original copy of Outlander, and then I missed it and bought another used copy. Sorry I can't give it up! :D

I prefered Angels and Demons to the DaVinci Code myself. Let me know how you feel about the ending. That was the only part that bugged me. Did you go to the DaVinci Code website and follow the clues from the book jacket?

"I'm Still Hungry" is Carnie's second book. I'm afraid I don't remember the name of her first one either...I didn't read it. The second one, though, is pretty good, if you like to read people's personal journey with WLS. Another one I'm currently reading is "before & after" by Susan Maria Leach. Has her personal WLS journey, as well as eating tips. I couldn't stand "She's Come Undone." Then, I'm not one for Oprah books anyway. I'm sorry I don't know of any books that truly fit your description, but if you find one, I'd be interested in it. Good luck!

I would try The Weight of It: A Story of Two Sisters. Although it's written by the sister who did NOT have WLS, it address some of this. Additionally, it has helped me be prepared for the reactions of my family and friends.
