I am starting Rudyard Kipling's book "Kim" on Monday. I like him and have wanted to read this book for some time.

I'll be posting like I did in sept on that book. I hope that other's will join in with reading it, or posting what they are reading!!

Here are the covers to Rudyard Kipling's book Kim that you might find in stores and online.

The last book cover is the one I have.

Happy reading!!

Hi Suzi,
I didn't even realize there was a Books & Literature forum on OH until I tried searching for book club information.  I'm so glad I found the board!  I guess there isn't an active book club going here, except for what you're doing?

I love to read!  It's too late for me to get in for October.  What were you planning to read in November?  R&R started a book club there but I've already read their pick for November, LOL!

This month I've read:

And I Don't Want to Live This Life by Deborah Spungen (R&R October pick & very depressing)
Paradise Alley by Kevin Baker (excellent historical fiction)
The Next Thing On My List by Jill Smolinski (November R&R pick, very lighthearted easy read)
Lost Boy by Brent Jeffs (another downer)

Hope to hear back!  :)

Hello Cassie!

I found the book club much the same way you did! hehe Just stumbled on it.

I had a few people that wanted to start reading books again and so I asked for suggestions and they quickly petered out! hehe

Well since I have finished Kim. I'm up for anything. I do like historical reading. I LOATH romance books. I do like some sci-fi and fantasy.

So through out some suggestions and I'm game!! hehe

What kinds of fantasy? Dungeons and Dragons type? You should check out Holly Lisle. She writes a lot of fantasy. I actually discovered her when I was trying to learn to write. Now, I'm enrolled in a year-long writing course that she offers. She really has a lot to offer, both in her fiction, and in her writing articles. Go check her out. You can read excerpts from her novels right on her site: www.hollylisle.com.

Lyndia,
Not anything specific as far as series in Fantasy. hehe Just if something catchs my eye then I pick it up. I have read the whole Dune series (even those written by his son), and they are fab. Melanie Rawn is a wonderful author that a friend suggested to me too. I like the Jane Auel "Earth's Children" series too. That's caveman/prehistoric though. So I like a LOT of different genres as you can tell. hehe

Bravo for you and your writting! I have written since I was 12. It's a wonderful outlet for me.
