You may be able to reduce, or slow; oh hell most likely not, you will lose a bunch of muscle in the first 4-6 months. You just can not eat enough to stop it. The good news is the ratio of muscle to fat seemed to be pretty good in my case, but I lost a lot of muscle. We are in essence on a starvation diet for a while, I think I got maybe 500 calories per day in the first month. Good luck to you, and it can only be good what you have done for yourself so far.

That is cool John, I love it when I can coax my son outr into the garage; I usually leave a trail of video games leading out into the garage.

Hi You all!!! Merry Christmas.....I have been weight lifting 3 days per week with a trainer for 12 months now and have great muscle definition under all the fat. I am worried with the rapid weight loss after surgery that I will loose mucsle mass!! Does anyone know if taking the glutamine powder will help prevent some of the muscle loss?? If not what do you suggest?? Thanks for your input....Lori

Topic: the week off
I got busy with work and took the week off. I got back into it yesterday. I did a leg workout. I hate working the legs...but I just cant ignore such a big muscle group. It was very cool because my son is home from school and the the entire family (..wife and 3 boys) went to gym together. Very rewarding to work out with family. Lots of good weight training talk on the ride home. I got my son a weight training book for Christmas. He wants to get serious with it...and I want to support his new 'hobby".

Alicia, I had a hernia fixed with no complications. I was back at it in about 6 weeks taking it easy on the abs. Good Luck and welcome back
