Topic: RE: Mucsle Loss????Post RNY
Hi Lori, I started out bench pressing 350 lbs once and now am only doing around 200 once. It's believed even with the most valiant efforts you will lose one pound of muscle for every three pounds of fat. Recovery has been slower than expected but I am now gaining more muscle mass faster than ever before and I have lifted all my life on and off. Once you recover from your healing crisis you may astound yourself with what dedication to a regimen will do for you. I lost down from 400 lbs at my heaviest to 367 pre-surgery and have been at 215-225 for the last six months. I would like to get to 200 and define some more but looking average is a welcomed change from looking like Refrigerator Perry. Next, body lift surgery

Topic: Hello Everyone!!
Hello everyone!!! It's been so long since i've been on the boards. I wanted to say hello and tell everyone i have been missing you all. Life is a little strange, but as they say, "this too shall pass".
I have some new pictures to put up, so i'll send them in so ya'll can see the latest.
For all of you who don't know me, i had my surgery almost a year ago. It's hard to believe it's gone so fast. If your getting ready to have the surgery or thinking about it. I don't think you'll regret it. It's been the best thing for me.
Well...i hope everyone is doing well. Take care and know you all are always in my thoughts and prayers.
Talk with you soon!!!
Tami~

Kathy,
You are welcome!!! Today I took a better look at your profile and I have to tell you I cried. First of all I love that Kelly Clarkson song (I have the CD)!! I have been house bound (no lifting) because of my wounded knee and I have an awful cold. Just looking at your before and after pictures really impacted me!! What a transformation woman!! You are incredible!! I was a mere lightweight and I think my transformation was great but you have gone the distance!! I am very happy we started to correspond via email!! I'm looking forward to more in the future!!!
I may lurk here here and actually start posting!!
Have a great day
~Summer
Topic: Lifting after WLS
I had banded RNY on 11/29/05 and have lost 42 lbs in four weeks. Yeah! I joined a gym last week and have been doing the elliptical and treadmill for aerobics. I'm really anxious to get on the weights though I don't remember how long I'm supposed to wait after surgery to start lifting. I definitely don't want a hernia! Any advice on how long I should wait or any muscle building excercises I can do now?
Topic: RE: Holiday Workouts -Sun/Mon
Hi Stayce,
Didn't do anything Sunday, bu****ched the BEARS win the division and get into the playoffs. YES And we do appreciate the Ravens beating the Viks, not that we needed them to lose.
Went to gym today and did 3 miles on the treadmill and took a Strong class.
Working with trainer tomorrow on lower body. Got all dressed up yesterday trying to look cute and everyone was saying I had chicken legs. Geeezzz, I thought they were looking good. Back to the gym
Take care,
Kathy
