Topic: Monday Workout.. This weeks plan
Went to the Towson Y and did 45 min of cardio. Avg HR was 150 - 165. Monday - Cardio Only. Yikes.. Was so easy to get HR high since I have not had much consistency. I need to really work back up. Did 35 min on cross trainer and 10 on treadmill. Tue - I am going to do some full body resistance traininig with 20 min low intensity cardio. If I have to crawl to keep my heart rate down at 120 I will do it. I will get to the gym at 5:30am before work. Head back home to shower and then go to work. Wed - Swim Thurs - same as tomorrow - full body + light cardio Friday - SLUG DAY Sat - Choice of cardio 60 min any intensity any type Sun - full body + light cardio Working on my resistance training plan with Dana in a few minutes and will post that too.

BFL is a great very sound and simple program to follow. I'm a fan of it and the website and book by Bill are great. Congrats and GL on your first challenge. GL on the marathon training as well. Do you have a specific training program already in place for that? Would love to see it if you don't mind sharing. How many miles are you running a week already if any? Just wondering if you are starting from scratch or have been running outside regularly for a while. I think my greatest challenge is getting use to running outside again. It was always so hard on my joints but now with most the weight off hopefully it won't be as much as an issue. One of the reasons I decided on the tri is so I could vary my training a bit between the bike/swim/run. Hoping it will be a little easier on my body.

I have been MIA from this board for a very long time. Just wanted to stop in and say hello. 1. Complete 2 rounds of the Body For Life Challenge in 06. I am in my second week of the first one now. 2. September 06 - Complete a half marathon in VA Beach. I will start training for that in 2 weeks. Diamond

I think my biggest goal is to exercise more. I think the more I do that...the less I have to watch what I eat. And after reading that article on Free Will, it makes sense to have one goal and stick to it. Hope I can do it this time! Leigh Ann

I know so cliche.. writing out goals for 2006 but I do it every 12/31 at least for the past few years. I also like going back to look at them too. I started writing that to LA in her thread but how about we all do one thread here with our goals? Would love to see what you are all planning to work on this year and happy to send lots of support in your direction on meeting any goals. 1) Continue to build up again on Spinning. Consider instructor certification towards end of year. Make sure new home spin bike gets lots of attention and not as a clothes rack. ;) Should be delivered in mid-Jan. Got the spinner elite model. Hoping to also take more spinning classes as well at the Y. 2) Work towards getting from 35% BF down to 16% BF by this time next year with consistent exercise and healthy eating. 3) Continue to focus on adding in "Super Foods" to my daily diet and just learing everything and anything I can about nutritional science and disease prevention. 4) October 2006 - Osprey Sprint Triathlon in Snow Hill, Maryland. Focus on training for this by adding in regular run/swim/bike into my routine. Try running outside again during the spring. Work on swimming. See how that goes and they tri my first tri! 5)#1 GOAL - Consistency regardless of what I do for exercise =) Will do that by logging more often especially if I fall off track.

Exactly! No reason at all Leigh Ann. Just start fresh right now and forget the past. I just bought a cute workout outfit at Target this morning to give me some more motivation. Soon as I am healed I am back to the weights. My D&C a couple days ago went very well so nothing should be holding me back now. Did a little stretching already this morning. Will try some yoga later if I am not too tired. They removed a few polyps but no endometriosis. Yay! That is great news. Probably next week I should be good to start up slow. Can't wait to get my sweat on!!! We need a flexing smiley icon just for this msg board! You will see me posting workouts more often in the coming weeks. I'm going to need to log to get back into a regular routine again. Tri training is still on hold but I'd like to get back to that eventually too. For now just focusing on building back strength and burning all that fat I have left. I am around 35% BF and 195 today. My measured goal for 2006 - I'd like to be at 16% by this time next year. I think that is pretty reasonable. I'm going to do it with good consistent exercise and healthy eating. Other goals include focusing on spin cycle and tri training. Hoping to get the instructor spin cert before the end of the year as well. LA glad you are joining us. Looking forward to seeing you post those goals and workouts too!

Hi Wayne...Thanks for the info! I have been hitting the weights hard all week and also some boxing with my trainer. Next week plan on hitting it hard again before I take a couple of months off to recover.....I hope this makes my recovery go smoothly. I am so anxious to see my muscle definition rather than just feeling it under all the fat. I have worked so hard the past year trying to do it on my own but it just didn't work! Good luck on PS body lift.....I will need one too. Wishing you a happy and healthy 2006. Lori
