popped up 185 no problem!
popped up 200 no problem!
tried 210.....just couldn't make it!
The flights were so short that I didn't have time to rest in between the lifts. Maybe you aren't suppose to. But any how I met some great people that are going to help out with my training. Give me pointers and all. The overall winner benched 430lbs! I only weighs 181. That just blows my mind. The judge(he didn't lift) .....His highest weight is 760 lbs!
Now that is with a shirt....but come on! He is trying for 800 lbs.
I am now going to start training for the lift in March! I want to do 225 or more!
After this competition....I am pretty sure I will be able to accompli****!!!
I am excited! Can ya tell??? LOL

Great workouts all!
Stacy, I wanted to ask you....Do you feel as strong as you were before the surgery or are you having to build back up and if so do you think you will get back to where you were? And one more .....is it as important to you to get back to lifting so heavy???
BTW....I do believe you about the size. When I lost all that weight I was at a size 13 when I weighed 200. Hard to believe, I know but so true....now I am not sure cause everything has shifted....Mostly down! LOL
lots of love Tammy
Topic: Friday Morning Workout
Just got back from the gym, and had a great workout.
Elliptical - Warm-up - 10 Minutes
Stretching - 15 Minutes
Concentration Curls - 2 Sets of 20
Triceps (Kickbacks and Lying Presses) - 1 set of 20 each
Shoulders (Lateral raises and Front raises) - 1 set of 20 each
Seated Cable Rows - 2 sets of 20
Chest Press - 2 sets of 20
LOTS of abs and back work using the Ball and the Stretch Bands. Then, a little more stretching for my Glutes - they were still dying from my lunges earlier in the week.
15 Minutes Walking - Cooldown
All-in-all, I feel great. Ill grab a 30 minute walk this afternoon, and sleep like a baby.
Have a great weekend everyone!

Welcome back Clay
I noticed in my gym Core is everything. They have you doing all kinds of things on the Fit Ball, Bosu, and such.... It makes sense, if we don't have a strong center nothing else will be as strong as it can be
Great workout and keep it up
Take care,
Kathy

Topic: What do you eat to workout?
Hi
Well, just when I think I am on a roll, oops not! I know that what we eat is as important as working out. I was working with my PT today and when we got to shoulders I just pooped out. I had nothing more to give and he said I am not eating enough complex carbs. Ok, I am still trying to get this protein thing and now I have to get this complex carb thing going
What do you guys eat to workout? Is there a website and or book or something I can read to learn how to eat to accommodate lifting weights and such?
I appreciate your help
Take care,
Kathy
Topic: Back in the Saddle
After posting that I was ready to start working out several weeks ago, I had a pretty major setback and had to postpone. Apparently, I developed a serious Vitamin B deficiency and had a ton of problems. Luckily, I got a new supplement and everything is looking up.
Yesterday was my first workout, and I am really sore as a result.
Lunges (tons of them, I can hardly stand up today)
Squats - 3 sets of 15
Crunches - 1 set of 20
Tricep Extensions - 1 set of 20
Bicep Curls - 1 set of 20
Lat Pulldowns - 1 set of 20
Chest Press - 1 set of 20
Shoulder Extensions - 2 sets of 20
Oblique Crunches - 2 sets of 15
Leg raises - 1 set of 20 (these were odd, lifting the legs from the ground to 90 degrees with a FitBall between my feet)
15 minutes of stretching
30 minutes on the Elliptical
I tolerated everything really well, except for the lunges. I used to be a lunge machine, and I told my trainer not to be afraid to ask me to do them. I am dying today.
I have trained with Personal Trainers several times in the past, but this one has a really unique approach. Most of the reps were done while balanced on a Fit Ball. She said she wanted to strengthen my core while we worked my arms and legs. I am not sure how thrilled I am with the approach, but I am willing to try for a while.
Despite the sore muscles, I am thrilled to be working out again.

Topic: Happy About Being Heavier On The Scale?!! You Bet!
I tried on a dress from 1993 that I wore at my college graduation ceremony under my gown. It was a very fitted dress and looked great back then. I saved it all these years and decided to just try it this morning. Back then I weighed 170lbs. Today I weigh 191.
When I tell people that are following my progress that I am a size 12 and 190 plus lbs they are all surprised. My mom said when she was 150lbs she wore a size 12.
No need for a bodypod to tell my my body composition is on track.. whoo hoo!
