I have graduated from pushup workout to all out attack ay gym workouts man...I am pushing 190 on tricep push downs - goal is MY body weight (210). Pulling down about 198, still using a wussy 130 on most other bench press type machines...but it's working. I also get in a few hundred crunches of various sorts...What a high - I still can't believe it's me when I look in the mirror. Keeps me on my toes.

David, I somehow knew you were associated with those Village People I look forward to your next conference. David, start posting your "push up" workouts. BTW, ...nice "wife beater" tank top at the Richmond conference. I saw pictures.

Ah Ha!
the funniest thing - and you guys probably don't know this - is that Felipe- the Indian from the Village People- lives here in Richmond, and dated the guy whose job I have now - so to see you with that headdress on - had me rolling with tears streaming down my face! Kudos Anthony- I am glad you both plan to attend in June!

Topic: This is what I have been doing at the gym. These days.
Ok, I just posted this to Mikes post below about Protein and working out and I so I figured since I have not posted this before and I have just add another weight manchine to the rountine that I would share this with you all... I have to say I am all new... To the working out and getting phyiscal but I am enjoying it very much.. I wish I would have done this before WLS.. But here it is...
Here is what I do 3 times a week, some times 4.
12 reps of :
*Leg extensions @ 95#
*Seated Leg Raises @ 95#
* Vertical Chest @ 80#
* Compound row @ 85#
* Peck Fly @ 90#\
* Overhead Press @ 40#, I just added this to my rountine.... Its a killer..
* Preachers Curl @ 80#
* Triceps press@ 85#
* Adductor/ Abductor @ 95#
* Abdomonal @ 90#
* Low back press @ 95#
I do a 5 minute warm up on the tread mill and finish up with 15 minutes after my weight lifting.
I am getting in between 80 to 120 grams of protein per day.. and a rough estimate of about 40 to 60 grams of carbs... It is so hard to get in that munch protein sometimes... Oh I also get in 80 ozs of water.. Plus another 16 ozs of coffee, I know I am bad.... I love my coffee though... Thank God I don't drink booze or beer any more... Just the ol' Joe... I can not Live with out it.. and If I don't have my cup of joe before the gym in the mornings Oh! I feel so sluggish... But I try to sip on a protein shake during my workout and that helps on the burn out afterwards... It really does. I just found that out too here in the last week or two... So any body have any sugestions on areas I should be ... or to add? I would appreciate any and all feedback... Since it is -20 below zero here this morning I did not make it to the gym so I am planing on getting there this evening but if not I will be there tomorrow for sure...
Take care and hope everyone has a great weekend!

Hello Mike I have been noticeing the same thing happening to me too.. I have been working out at the gym since October of last year and I have been noticing here in the last month that I am just dead beat tired at 8PM. But, I have started to add some high protein cereal for breakfast and then take a protein shake with me to the gym and sip on it durng my workout and I do not get as wore out as I used too... Also I have add some watered down Gatorade of Poweraid at the end of my cardio workout.

I am thinking that the bit of carbs I have add really do help get me thru the rest of the day... I know its scary to for us WLS to introduce to many carbs ... But I figure if we can burn them off and still gain muscle mass then it OK... But I know its in the back of my head that carbs are sinfull or even down right EVIL!
Take care and have a Great work out...

Topic: Last few days
spin workouts the last couple days. Work has been insane so I am lucky to get the 30 - 40 min in at the house. Did 30 min just now and headed in to the office after I shower. Sat and Sunday I will be lifting for sure. Going to make it a very active weekend. Dancing tonight at happy hour. Sat am, before sunrise I am going to drive up to the blue ridge mountains in VA and go for an outdoor bike ride in the mountains solo. Need this one bad and I think it will help clear the head. If still have energy left will lift over at the Y in the evening. Sunday also lifting and then going hiking at a local park. The husband is working all weekend so I'm on my own.
Cross fingers for good weather! If not then I guess I pack on the underarmor cold gear.
