Hi Tammy - My girlfriend went through this as well. She did end up getting just the ovaries removed and left everything else in tack but later had to do back to have a 2nd procedure and do the full hysterectomy. I would probably make the same decision as you. I wouldn't want everthing to come out unless absolutely necessary. I'm stalling going to my OB/GYN because I'm hoping to have the surgery before dealing with any other issues that may be resolved with the WLS. Most of the women in my family have had a hyesterectomy prior to menopause. It does stink but between having a good diet and medication it sounds like they are tolerating menopause issues fairly well. My mom also takes a few herbal remedies that she says also helps. Gratz on winning your volley ball tournament!! YEAY!! Once again I should be hearing more today if I am going to get approved for my WLS ... hopefully!! I'm still off from the gym today. Have an awful cold still. My husband as well is still sick.

It finally happened.... I have been having pain on my left side near my ovary. (I have PCOS) I went to the Dr today and they said my ovary is 8mm(3inches) in size. That is huge. I also have 2 cysts that are 4mm(1 1/2 inches) in size. It sucks! That is 6 inches of stuff that isn't suppose to be there! I am going to have to have surgery some time soon to have my ovary removed. They wanted to take everything out but I told them no!!! I don't want to go into menopause now...before I have my surgery!! NO WAY!!! I have not been lifting because every time I lift it pulls and hurts. This sucks!!! But we did win our volleyball tournament! LOL I really hurt now but tonight was our playoffs for the big prize.....A T-Shirt!!!! LOL I am just a little competative Sorry to the men if this is too graphic......just let me know and I won't post girlie things.... Have a good night OH BTW STACY....I would love to come to a post op party!!! Thanks for letting me vent....Tammy

Thanks!! Taking the extra C, Zicam, and drinking fluids until I float away. On a totally unrelated note... Do you ever use the DaVinci No Sugar Syrups? I just ordered the sugar free toasted marshmellow one today. Going to try a splash in my morning shake or skim milk latte. Yummy! http://www.davincigourmet.com/ if you want to check them out online.

Dana and I both have awful colds - cough, low grade fever, chest, etc. So it looks like that asthma attack I had on Sunday was actually the start of a cold or possibly some bronchitis. I made it to the gym the last three days in a row but taking off from my workout this morning and resting up. The last 2 were a real struggle.. got in 25 min of light cardio both days. I woke up at 2am and stayed awake until 5am. Then went back to sleep for a few hours. Now up again at 8. Going to head into work around 10 or so. I have not had a cold this bad in a long time. Matter of fact I was just looking at my payroll online this morning and I got the $100 bonus for not taking any sick time all of last year!!! Yeay!! Not sure how I managed that one. I have stored up over 90 hours of sick time, 8 hours of holiday time, and 53 hours of vacation time. Good to know as I am sure I will need it when I finally get approved for surgery. Updated my profile journal on my latest status. I should be hearing an update again from HR today. Keep your fingers, eyes, nose, and toes all double and triple crossed for me once again today!!!!!!!!! Had lunch with another OHer yesterday, Barbara M. Very nice person and in the same stage as me. Also likes to workout already, loves dogs, has same insurance, waiting for approval, and has same surgeon. She was suppose to hear a decision from them yesterday afternoon. I told her to come visit us on these boards. Once again... it is so nice to meet such amazing people with so many similarities!! I'm going to through us all a big re-birthday party at my place when we are on the other side. Maybe do some sort of spa day party theme. I can't wait until we are all on the other side sipping our protein shakes together! Tammy.. you will have to come from PA for that one =) Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Oh man, I was JUST talking to Earl about the same thing on my way home from working out last night!!! I was all hyped up because I felt so good! I said, you know just getting to the gym gives me a sense of self worth and pride. I am glad we got you there, believe me there are days when it's the other way around, I start thinking, I'm tired, I'm this or that, then I think, NO! Gotta GO!!! Then I feel SOOOOO good afterward. Mentally AND physically! I am glad you guys post, we are all here for each other no matter what we are doing. AND YOU GO MAN!!! Dude that's awesome on the nordick track! Cardio still eludes me more than it should, but I am working on it! It's my weak area now. I think I might have to make it a completely different day. After I get done pushing metal, I am so exhausted sometimes the thought of doing cardio makes me want to sleep right there in the gym!! I think it's great that we post stuff here...no braggin' no shame, just support and encouragement. I hope we can motivate more people to get out there and move those bodies that we aren't trapped in any more! Talk about FREEDOM!!! WOOOO HOOOOO Keep it up! Val
