Yes, actually. If you were obstructed higher up you would not be passing stool at this point and really be sick. I wouldn't leave just yet, especially if you are having that much pain. Definately call the surgeon and let him know what's going on. Pain is not good. Sluggish bowel sounds in and of themselves are not critical, but when coupled with pain it can be worrisome. Don't leave in that kind of pain or without an answer one way or the other. Hang in there! Val

My PCP says if I had a BM then I don't have an obstruction. Does that make sense? He said he didn't hear a lot of bowel sounds and was thinking my stomach is just sleepy or slow and timming is off. The Radiologist mentioned my stomach being slow as well with the upper GI series so maybe he has something there. My PCP wants me to see a GI specialist at my hospital. Problem is the office is now closed and I am still in so much pain. I'm going to also call Kligman before I do that and see what he thinks. As I was walking out the door he also handed me an xray script for my abdomen. They just did it about 30 minutes ago and put it in as a wet read. My Dr did not order it stat but my friends in Radiology saw how much pain I was in and pushed in through. I'm actually sitting in the lobby of the hospital waiting to see the report. If it does show something I am going to page him myself. Im pretty sure he is gone for the day now too. It would be crazy for me to turn around and go home just to have to come back. He did say he would have me to an EGD but he wants the specialist to look at me first.

Ok, you're goona do just fine...keep breathing...ah Brad Pitt...Jude Law...there ya go. Look at it this way...it may get you surgery sooner than later. If there is a problem they can maybe combine surgeries and do it all at the same time. You may have bought a ticket to an earlier flight ma'am! Hang in there, everything happens for a reason. Hugs, Val VENT ANYTIME!!

"wuegiuti3yr92yr982y982tyr982!!!!!@$@$@^&@!" That's me saying a bunch of curse words. I'm still sick and having pain. The pain moves too. First it was mostly my right side. Then late last night it was left. Now its right in the middle. My primary called me and said that my upper GI series shows things moving slow and fluid which could be a sign of an obstruction. He is going to see me today at 2:!5 and they they will probably want to scope me. I CANT BELIEVE THAT I AM ALMOST 2 WEEKS AWAY FROM SURGERY AND THIS IS HAPPENING!!!!!!!!!! I know this is out of my control and nothing I can do. I also know if it were not for the fact that I was having WLS I may have just chucked this all up to a somach virus (which it still may be). I'm glad too that I am getting good care. I'm not going to lie though.. I AM INCREDIBLY UPSET RIGHT NOW!!!!!!! I'm just trying to hold it together so I can get through this morning at work and stay calm so I don't make things worse. My dad had stomach cancer a few years ago so of course that is at the back of my mind as well. I'm so tired of having health issues. WLS gives me a light at the end of the tunnel. ahh thanks for letting me vent

Look at you go! Geez man...You and Earl with those doubled up workouts. Man I just can't do that yet. One, time is an issue, and two I just don't think I have that kind of endurance yet. I need to work on that big time. IF the weather ever gets warmed up I would love to be able to on the weekends. So, I could do it at home. Going to the gym is a pain in the arse after you've been spoiled and worked out at home. I guess last night could count as a two a day...we went and I did lots of cardio and repeated sets of reps with my Long Islands...does that count?

Thanks Val. Ya.. but my rad people are great. They treat me like a VIP since I solve all their IT issues =) I do think the good Dr. mad a bad call though based on what you said. I think I could have had something stuck but now I have no pain in that spot anymore just feeling bloated again. If it comes back I will go to the ER. Now it seems I have the reverse issue probably from the laxitive or maybe a stomach virus. Would a laxitive upset your system for more than 10 hours? I also had a mild asthma attack after I got out of the shower about three hours ago. No clue what could trigger that. All I was doing was taking a hot bath. That has not happened since the last time I posted about it. My right side of my throat has swollen glands as well. I've got to have some sort of bug attacking my system. No fever though so I will just wait until Monday to pop over and see my PCP unless I start feeling worse. I just had some ginger ale and sipping water. I'm going to try going to sleep for a bit. Ya.. counting the days. Hopefully my labs will all turn out ok or if they do find something then hopefully they can treat me right away. I want to be 100% healthy when I go into that OR.
