I know with the volume of food to expect less but my lower tummy is feeling like it has a ball of cement in it since last night. Got my follow up scheduled for May 3rd at 1pm.

Topic: RE: Stomach = Heavy Bag ?!
I had Lap. But I also had to cut back my activity level prior to surgery for about 6 weeks due to joint and hernia pain. I had not had any good conistency with my cardio and weight lifting total for about 2 1/2 - 3 months. So I am truly back to square one. I'm ok with that though. I will be patient. Tonight I went to go for a 10 min walk but it was pouring out. Instead I walked in the apartment back and forth and just spent some time standing while I watched Dana do some yoga. Did a few back stretches but nothing major. We are talking turtle slow walk too. 1/2 mile by day 5 is amazing!! Don't think that will be me though. My plan tomorrow is to walk to a certain spot in my neighborhood. Then gradually add on to that another block each day. We are talking feet.. not miles at this point! I'll see how that goes. If I feel really good the day after then I will add in a 2nd walk for the same duration. Yep.. will go very, very slow. Today has been pretty good though. Just feeling pretty tired right now since I only took a nap for a few minutes. I plan to get in bed early. Also starting to be able to spread my pain meds out further - taking now every 6 hours instead of 4.

Yeah hunny...you expirenced dumping. GOOD thing to know that you dump. I don't know if you had open or lap, but I had open and was walking a 1/2 mile by day 5.....but I'm glutten for punishment! I honestly didn't feel like I'd had surgery. the only discomfort I ever felt was the first gas bubble passing. Once it passed I was HAPPY! Don't over do it. Your body will be ready to increase your working out soon enough and things will be fabulous when it does! RELAX...enjoy your recovery time.....the real world awaits your return soon enough!
