I am interested in finding if there is any change in the way supplements are obsorbed now post op. Thinking of creatine, glutimine or other supplements out there. I have gotten back into the gym and have a regular routine but have noticed a drastic change in the amount of weight I can lift now as compared to pre surgery and am interested in putting that lost muscle back on.

I took creatine, glutamine and protein supplements from the first day. Gradually started adding other supplements as I could swallow the pills. I think glutamine is one the key supplements to take right after surgery, let alone after training. It helps your immune system and with recovery. I'm just sore all the time if I don't take it. Creatine, I think adds 3 reps to my sets, which makes you stronger and bigger. Some people don't like it because of the weight gain you have on it. If it gives you the runs or cramps, take a little less and see what you can tolerate. I lost a lot of muscle the first 6 months and after almost 2 years I'm still not up to my pre surgery strength. I'm more flexible, healthier, faster and more athletic, but not stronger...yet. Good luck.

I am taking the creatine and glutamine without any negative side affects(runs, etc). I am adding gakic and leukic to help in the increase in muscle mass. I too am far short of my pre surgery strength, but I gotta say I am loving the way the definition in my legs is coming out. I am about a year out from my surgery and have only been truly dedicated to working out for about 2 months, so we will see how theses supps absorb and if I get any benefits from them. I am just worried that if they aren't being absorbed that I am just flushed alotta cash down the toilet. Thanks for your reply. I now know someone does read these things.
