New to the Board
Hello everyone! I WLS on 11-1-05, and I am doing great. I have dropped 80 lbs, and feel much better every day.
My exercise got off to a slow start, due to lots of blood loss during my surgery, and severe anemia for a couple of weeks after. Now, I am picking up the pace with my walking, and I am starting to look at lifting to supplement my exercise program.
My current plan is to increase the walking for 1 more week, and then alternate lifting/walking days. I would love to work both into my routine in 1 day, but I haven't worked out the logisitics yet.
My biggest concern is managing my excess skin. I am hoping that diligent walking and lifting will prevent the need for plastic surgery to address excess skin. I am 37, and my skin elasticity is not what it was 10 years ago.
This looks like a great board, and I look forward to keeping in touch here.

Welcome Clay, Nothing is better for loose skin than lifting. Cardio will help you loose the fat......but weight training will help you fill the void with muscle. Good Luck.
