Day 1
I call today day 1 because this is the first day I finally got my ass out the door running in a while. Did 30 min sprint/run/walks plus 10 on the eliptical. Decided in October next year I will be doing a Sprint Tri. Will help keep me focused. I have a structured training plan in mind but these first few weeks I'm just going to get back into a routine then start that. I did end up with an exercise induced asthma attack but nothing a few puffs of albuterol couldn't fix. It's such a beautiful fall day out and it was fun to run through all the leaves. Glad I went. Tommorow I need to start out a bit earlier. 9:15am and I have not left for work yet and still need to shower. Its ok though.. no meetings today and I needed to do this so bad.

Good Luck on the Sprint TRI next Oct. It is nice to have a long term goal to shoot for. I also love to get outside in the fall.
Thanks John! I have some shorter term goals too in mind with regards to consistency for workouts and times but ya.. I agree. I think something to work towards that is extremely reasonable makes good sense. I am so very excited to see how my body will respond to training at a lower weight. No more injuries!!! As I get further into the program I'll try to work on the diet to support it too. Right now I'm at 1200 - 1500 calories and 100 - 120 grams of protein and consistently losing 2lbs a week. Going to need to be careful I don't put myself into starvation mode. I think those values should be good the first few weeks though. I'm guessing that I am going to need to get back up to around 1800 - 2k in a few months though and add in some more protein and carbs. We will see. I'll work with my surgeon on it once I make the changes.

I went to Baseline Fitness here in town. I did a RMR (Resting Metabolic Rate) test. On my heavy exercise days I can eat 3,000 calories....and maintain my weight. It sure is nice being a guy. We can get away with eating so much more than woman. I bet Dana can eat a lot without gaining weight.
I need to get an RMR once I get further out. I think it would be a waste of money right now but maybe do it in another few months. Dana is the same way although he really can't work out as hard and needs to start to adjust his calories. He is actually trying to drop weight right now. When he was tri training he could eat 5k.
Day 2 Today's workout: Running Outside.. glad I had my under armor cold gear on. Although once I got going I warmed up fast. I think I did 45 min - hour. I really didn't keep track today. Didn't even monitor my heart rate. Just went for it. Gorgeous morning.
Starting in 2 weeks I want to do 3 mile runs regularly then work up to a couple 5 mile runs. Today was more brisk walking mixed with some running. Had another exercise induced asthma attack when I got home and used the albuterol again. Must be the weather outside. Tomorrow I will be taking a break from running and biking. My shins are already a little sore just after 2 days in a row. I'm just not use to running outside on the pavement. I was always a treadmill runner. Need to toughen them up! No ankle or joint pain though which is just so wonderful! I know its because of the weight loss. I bet sometime in the next 2 weeks I will be under 200 finally.
