Hi All! Okay, I had surgery (open) on 1Aug05. I'm down 43 lbs. I feel fantastic. I'm wondering if any of you could give me a basic workout to do (my son has a Bowflex so I'd like to use that). My upper arms are my main concern. Secong to the arms would be just overall toning. Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated! Becca 218/175/130??? 5'1"

Hi Becca - Welcome to the best board on OH!! I use to have a Bowflex but sold it. Just ended up being a glorified clothing rack. However, when I did use it, I got a fairly decent workout. I just tend to prefer using free weights or if in the gym, plate loaded equipment and occasionally add some machines. The Bowflex is a great home unit and very fluid. It is pretty easy to move from one exercise to another. Your best bet is to follow the full body circuit they give you that comes with the Bowflex. Your son should have an instruction manual or you might be able to download it from here - www.bowflex.com You should do that circuit 3 - 4x a week depending how much time you have plus also add in your regular cardio with that. Take it easy though and build up since you are just a couple months post op. Forget worrying about one body part or another. Focus on your body as a whole. Dropping fat all over and building muscle all over is what will yield the best results. Read this too when you get a chance: http://www.stumptuous.com/weights.html Matter of fact her whole website is very very good!
