Update
Hi Gang!
Miss you guys. Sorry my updates have been sketchy lately. I need to catch up on the posts. Work continues to be insane. I'm doing long hours at the hospital. My workout was sketchy last week too!! This week so far so good. I've just been focusing in on the cardio for the most part and not doing a ton of resistance training. I'm doing assorted cardio in the am - usually 50 minutes and then my goal is always to lift in the afternoon along with doing some ab work. Back to a traditional split.
My husband quit his job at the gym a couple weeks ago so no more free membership for me there. The good news is that he already found himself another position at a new gym, Federal Hill Fitness. It isn't a local chain like his other gym but rather a single He is brining some of his personal training clients with him and I will also be able to go there.
In the meantime, I've been working out in our apartment fitness room, at home, or at my corporate gym at work.
I lost 46lbs so far. Weight is now 235 (started on 4/19 at 281). Feeling energetic most of the time and getting in 80 - 100 grams of protein over 4 meals. Very pleased with my results.
Thanks! How dare people go on vacations and not take me =p
Actually, I'm headed to Chicago to visit my brother and see my soon to be new sister-in-law in September. I took off one day for that so should be fun. I'm saving my vacation time for the holidays so we can go to San Jose, CA to visit Dana's family. It will be fun to see what kind of reaction I get from them. I should be another 40lbs down by then and lots more muscle!!
I'm sure I will look much different then I think and that already happens now. My brain just has not caught up to my weight loss. I guess that happens to most of us. I made the mistake of buying a pair of pants the other day that I thought would fit me and didn't try them on. When I got home I was able to pull them off without even unbuttoning them!
Somedays it is really hard to believe that I have dropped almost 50lbs already. I wonder if I will still have those days when I am more of a "normal" healthy weight. I'm sure I will. I was just telling a pre-op patient today that the surgery doesn't include a lobotomy ... the emotional/behavioral/body image part takes plenty of work too!!
My husband said the sweetest thing to me when we were walking the dogs last night. He said I already look like a different person from behind!!!
Hahahaha.. how great is that!
That is so cool! My husband is not one for compliments, but he suprises me sometimes with little comments like the one your hubby made. The one that I treasure the most was when he told me how proud he was of me for sticking to an exercise routine. I'd just come in from a walk when he said it. For some reason that made me feel better than ever hearing how thin or pretty I was. Congratulations on your loss, too. You are doing great.

Hey I will be visiting Chicago in Sept as well. I will be in Chicago Sept 8th to the 12th.
That is very cool! I'm flying in Sat AM and leaving early Monday morning. The shower is on Sunday and I have dinner plans with family on Sat afternoon/night. I wish I had more time so we could hang out. Possibly Sunday evening after the shower if it ends at a decent hour. Do you want me to call you to see if you are available? I'll be staying at my brothers place right in downtown. If so, shoot me an email with your phone number or I can give you my cell phone.
