Response from Deb Schaub at 10:09 PM PST on 07/17/2005 Great Falls, MT - DS (09/06/2005) I am still a pre-op for 49days or so and am hoping that once I am cleared with my PCP that I'll be able to get in the kind of shape that you are in. That is my goal even though I am a woman, I believe that it is possible for me to be buff and still feminine (sp). I was just talking with my hubby today that it would be nice to get buff and hopefully not have to have so much plastic surgery if any at all. I have around 240 pounds to loose here though. So, what ever advice ya'll can give, I'd greatly appreciate it. Feel free to look at my profile, not a problem. I do plan on hireing a personal trainer once I am cleared so that I have the guidance I need each and every time I need it. Ya'll have a great night. Deb from Montana

Glad you are joining us Deb. Great you are thinking about exercise already. No time like the present to start and studies show that it helps with recovery. Even just getting into a consistent routine of walking is great. What are you doing now for exercise? Hiring a personal trainer is a great way to stay motivated, on track, and get a customized program that works for your goals and needs. Maybe even consider giving yourself that gift prior to surgery and you will be a step ahead of the game.

Stayce and the rest of you, you're right. Monday I should go to the gym that I plan on using after surgery which is btw in 39 days and go see what plan of attack we can come up with to meet the goals that are right for me. I really want to not have so much plastics as possible and that is one of my goals here. Working out before surgery will help me get stronger and like Stayce said that I'll be ahead of the game. It will also help me with that pre-op time on my hands with the mind games that is going on of I'm almost there and yet I'm not (day of surgery). All I'm doing now is walking while shopping and am so worn out when I get home that I'm not much good for the rest of the night. Thanks ya'll for listening. Deb

Welcome Deb, You have the right idea. You are so right. Women can be buff and feminine So many people wait till after the surgery to start a program. Good Luck

Welcome Great to see you thinking already about exercise, I can say with confidence; WALK-WALK and do not stop. PS will most likely be a reality to some extent no matter what, but what you do to the foundation underneath the skin matters.
