Tuesday:"I like to move it, move it!"
Saw Madagascar.. cute movie but not as good as Shrek.
Great news for me.. pain free the last few days. I keep getting to push that gall bladder removal back further. This morning I did a wonderful cardio session. I was able to do 45 minutes and most of it was running.
In between running sets I did incline walking. I use the incline treadmills at my gym so it can go really really high. I was walking at a level 20 incline but just 2mph and holding on to the bar. Those were my rest intervals.. lol.. HR was high 130's. The running/jogging portions I did on a .5 incline and those were with HR's in the high 150's. Burned around 550 calories according to my HR monitor. I felt really energized after the 6am workout. It has carried through all day too... 2pm and I still feel fantastic. I'm getting some more carbs into my diet too so I think that is helping with the energy as well. Doing more balanced meals as opposed to more protein only meals. I'm on week 6 and down 28 lbs. Next week I go to regular food and get to slowly add in some raw veggies. Yay!
I want to ask you a question. I see you said you can "push your gall bladder removal back" have you been told positively that you'll have to have yours out? I wound up in the ER last Friday from having pain and they said I have "sludge" on my gall bladder. Essentially they said I will have to have it removed.....
I've been told by some others it's best to go ahead and get it out before it gets worse and can cause major problems......
I'm freaking out because I just got my teaching schedule set and don't want to loose the spots to be out for surgery. I guess I have to do what I have to do....but I know I'll have to be out when the time comes for me to have plastics......
I know I wasn't expecting this!
Your thoughts please ma'am (if you don't mind)
I was told that if it is causing me pain then it will need to come out but that I should wait at least 6 weeks. The further out from my weight loss surgery the better. My surgeon said if I had an attack that is so bad to go right to the ER and he would arrange for me to be admitted to have it removed immeditately. I've been told mixed things like you but am just going on my surgeons advice. I'm sure it will need to come out eventually since a couple of the attacks I had were just awful. However, I was told I was not in any immediate danger.
One thing that is good.... Gall Bladder surgery is very common. With the LAP procedure you go home the same day if not the next day. Recovery once you are home is not too bad. You feel better within a few days and can probably go back to work within 1 - 2 weeks after but of course everyone is different.
How are you feeling right now?
RIght now I feel as if nothing has happened. I go see the surgeon tomorrow for my follow up from the ER visit - but I've talked with the doctor and his nurse and they seem to think that it'd be better to go ahead and get it removed now before it gets bad.
I'm over a year (barely) post op and I've heard that most of the time it will go bad within the first year if it's going to happen. I had the attack starting on day 367.....LOL.....
I've been told the procedure is basically out paitent (unless it's late in the afternoon....) and the recovery is minimal. I'll be able to get back to regular work outs within a few weeks.
Thanks for the information.
yep.. that is gall bladder.. fun stuff. One minute completely fine and the next you get an attack. You might as well listen to them and just get it over with so you don't have to deal with it. I am sure you will bounce back pretty fast. Probably within a week. I had a friend who had her gall bladder out early Monday morning last week and by the weekend she was going to parties for Memorial Day. Granted she was very tired but she was able to get around very easily with minimal pain. See if you can get scheduled as the first case so you can go right home that day.

I like the way you go up to 150s...then back down...Interval training is the best for cardio. Nice Job!!
