Hi Everyone! My new friend Stacy steered me to this board. I am 6 weeks post lap band surgery and hope to get clearance from my surgeon to lift weights and resume full exercise this week. I just saw an infomercial for the Katami bar and DVDs and wondered if anyone had any experience with this product. I can be so easily seduced by anything which makes exercise look like a game and had to sit on my hands to keep from phoning in my order! I look forward to gleaning the wealth of knowledge and information on this board. What a valuable resource. Thanks Stacy! Refika

Welcome, and I would love to chat with you some time. I am waiting to get my money together to have the lap band and I would like to know how you are doing and if you feel you have any restrictions with having the port and all. Thanks Tammy

Hi Tammy! I would be very happy to talk to you about the lap band. I had my surgery on 3/22/05 and have had a very easy recovery. I even went to Cancun five days later with my family and had a great time. The area around my port was a little sore for about a week, but most of the time I don't feel a thing. I can't say if this will still be the case after I resume my full activities. There is a Lap-band board on this site where pre- and post-ops exchange info. And of course please feel free to write me anytime. Best of luck to you! Refika

I wanted to thank you for your warm welcome! Tomorrow I see my surgeon and hope he will lift restrictions. Then I plan to start setting free my inner Amazon who's being held hostage by a couch potato! Actually, at present my biggest challenges are various hamstring/knee/ankle injuries which have been aggravated in my efforts to resume exercising. But I've decided to address these problems head-on and try physical therapy again with a group specializing in sports injuries. I will do whatever it takes to avoid the chronic injury/immobility cycle which I barely escaped thanks to WLS. Thank you for your support! Refika
