Heavy Squat day!

Hi Guys! Almost didn't get my squatting in... my left knee was arguing with me about it, but I won that battle. I am happy to say my daughter Katie worked out with me and went lift for lift with me and then she did some calf raises and ab work out! She could have lifted more than me but she was saying her back was hurting, that indicates it's time to stop. But she just blew the weight up. We need to work on technique, but otherwise she is doing awesome! Here goes! Max squat effort warm up with 45# until knee pain went away 65# x 3 95# x 2 115# x 1 135# x1 155# x 1 175# x 1 Katie was right there with me! Reverse hypers 3 sets of max reps Calf raises 3 sets of max reps Back rows machine 55# for 3 sets of 12 Abs on decline bench 2 sets of obliques to max reps 1 set of regular to max reps Thats it. Not a lot, but a lot of work. Tooke me 1 1/2 hours to do. Max squats really take a lot of time. I am having to redo my workout schedule again, gotta make arrangements for kids schedules! Oh well...life of a mom! But I love it! Tomorrow's the vote gang...pray and pray! Hugs, Val

Awesome job! I think it is cool that you can do the weights with your daughter. What a great support system your whole family has! Boy don't I know about the schedule thing! I must say that I look forward to the summer when I don't do as much running around as normal but then I have to put up with the sibling rivalry stuff ....eeewwww! It will be time to rip some lips off!

Thanks Stayce X!! hehe that's cute! I told her, that really made her feel good. She's my heavy kid with low self esteem. I am glad that she is getting involved with the lifting. Man she blew that 175 up like it was nothing. We just need to tweak her technique a little. But her potential is unreal! I was SOOOOO jealous!! But, you know proud too! She gets those genes from her mama!

Hey Val, Nice work out. I like to work out with my boys. It is soooo easy for the kids to add muscle mass. Like I always say: youth is wasted on the young. If I knew then what I know now....lol. When I was playing football & lifting it just seemed so easy. Back then, If I managed to actually lift for a few weeks in a row, I would see huge results. I just lacked focus back then...lol. I hope you can keep her going to the gym. It can be a strugle for me to get my boys in the gym. Good Luck.

Oh man I swear I say that almost on a daily basis! I worked her pretty hard tho, but she liked it! I know, I kinda had to prod a little, it was a battle between me and the computer, but I just said you know Ok, whatever and next thing I know there she was, workout clothes on, bandana on her head ready to get busy! We had a good time, and I think I can keep her really motivated. Especially when she saw that she was gonna be able to way outlift me! My knees hurt almost the whole time...damn this old age!!

Ok Mike, we are women here...c'mon now... Actually she was all down to business. I think I talked more than she did! You know, trying to give her unwanted pointers.
