I finally got back to the gym!!!!!
I am soooooooooo happy! Now that I have been released from surgery and the heart cath. I went back to the gym!!!!!
Monday I walked 2 miles in the am (slowly, but I walked the whole thing).
Went to the gym....
dumbell bench press....25 lb--15, 25 lb--15, 30 lb--12
incline press....40--15, 50--12, 60--10
overhead something or the other(lol...very technical huh?) 70--12, 90--12 , 90--10
Decline bench press 95--10, 95--8, 95--7 (I burned out on these).
My pecs are killing me today! I love it.
I got the bad news yesterday that I have been totally denied for the surgery. I had my good cry and then talked to my husband and we are going to look into the lap band. It is $10,000 cheaper. I am wondering if this will reverse all the crap that is happening in my body the same way the rny would. Does anyone know.....OH VALLLLLLL???? ARE YOU OUT THERE?????
We will have to take a loan out for this so I need to do some serious research. Keep us in your prayers if we come to mind. The cheapest for the lap band so far is $13,500. Anyone know of cheaper....self pay?
I am so glad to see you all doing so well with the exercise....I am so glad I get to get back to it. You don't know what you have till it is taken away from you. I am thankful I can work out and walk again. Have a good day all!

Welcome back Nice job on the work out. I wish I could give you name of cheap Lap Band surgon...but I cant. .....Keep it up Tammy
I'm right here honey!!! Weight loss no matter how you take it off will help with your problems sweetie!! Lap band or RNY, or how ever, weight off = better health.
Sometimes you have to do what's best for your situation. Really research them both. I mean this is really a personal decision. I wanted the RNY because it was PERMANENT. No goin' back baby! Plus I like the fact that it restricts my diet. Lap banding is reversable, and you can still eat all the same foods you ate before. Weight loss is slower with the lap banding. I would really weigh out whether it would be worth it or not.
If that's the only way to do it financially (which believe me I understand that completely) then the lap banding is the way to go. Both are tools, both will work if you follow the program.
I am having my plastic surgery done in the residents clinic because it is much cheaper than having a private or attending physician do it. Mainly because I am self pay on that and having to save my pennies.
But, no matter what you choose, we are behind you 100% (no farting please we are down wind) and I know you can make it work. I have a friend that had lap banding done and is doing well. Would you like for me to have her email you? Send me your address and I will forward it on. She doesn't mind at all.
BTW GREAT JOB ON GETTING BACK TO THE GYM!! Man that's liberating isn't it? Tonight is speed bench night and I am chompin' at the bit to get my workout in. This weekend I had just a funky schedule and wasn't able to get my workouts in.
Hang in there! You'll make it!!

Whoo hoo Tammy! Way to go on the workout!! Did you email Barbara yet about her lap band?
My Workout Today (1 week POST OP):
Gardening: 15 minutes
Walking 2.0 MPH: 20 minutes
Spring Cleaning the Kitchen: 30 minutes
Feeling groovy today but now of course pretty tired. Pain Meds early in the morning but none since. Getting alot easier to get everything in now too. Felt my first actual hunger today but it was gone within 3 sips. Haha! What a tool this is!
Food Stats:
Protein=88, Carbs=34, Fat=8, Calories=495, Fluid Intake=46oz
Can't believe how much protein I got in today. It is more then what is suggested but oh well. I guess I'm just making high protein choices - 3 shakes made with 4oz skim milk and then doing strained egg drop soup for the other 3 meals. Plus popsicles in between. Will be nice to
review my log with my nutritonist early next week.
Hitting the hay hearling tonight. Sweet Dreams!
