Protein????

Okay, sometime, somewhere, I thought I read or heard that your body can only absorb so much protein at one time. Is that true? How do I find out how much? I use Myoplex Lite shakes with a scoop of Precision Protein added in for extra protein. That gives me a little over 40 grams of protein at one time. Is that too much? Is it wasted because it's not being absorbed? I've come to the experts again! Help! Jennifer Who did 20 minutes on the elliptical machine and 10 extra on the treadmill at 4am this morning and I feel pumped! Too bad I have photography class tonight or I'd be lifting when I get home. And this is so "too much information", but does working out more make anyone else want to "work out" in the bedroom more? My hubby thinks I'm on drugs! LOL.

Thanks Kristie! Mike had mentioned that y'all had gone through it, too. We're trying again, so keep your fingers crossed for us. I read your profile and you've done great! You really need to post here more often. You're missing out on all the fun. Of course, my hubby is also a post-op RNY and he never posts or visits the website. It's funny how many couples did GBS together and lift weights together. Maybe the saying should be "The couple that lifts together, stays together!" Jennifer

40 grams seems ok to me. I try to get 150 to 200 grams per day. And yes, working out will increase you sex drive...that is a good thing. We are all adults here so don't be shy about your increased libido from exercise. As I have posted before, I am a big proponent of bedroom cardio. I think it should be a daily activity....for health reasons of course. Earl and Val do it once a day... and twice a day on weekends. Mikee is at it all the time( of course he is from California where it is part of the daily routine). Staci is a newlywed and married to a personal trainer (enough said there). Just tell hubby it's a side effect of WLS and exercise....and just enjoy it.

John, you crack me up! My hubby is actually quite pleased now that he's gotten over the initial shock. Of course, part of it is that we've actually been at home at the same time more often now that graduation is closing in. And I'll sign up for anything that burns calories!!! Thanks again. Jennifer
