Stacy asked me to post. She says Hi and she is doing well. She had to go for the swallow test and....feeling a little under right now. She said she is still glad she did it! She said she was practically running laps in the hall ways! Does she sound like she fits here or what???? Glad she is doing so well. She is suppose to go home on Friday. Tammy

Just a little update for everyone; Stacy was doing well when I saw her this afternoon she was much better than yesterday, had all her tests today and said she is fine, they may let her go home tomorrow, which is a shame because I was getting used to this whole not making the bed and not shaving thing But I do miss her so it is a trade off I guess = ) we walked around the area a few times, but she was still a little hopped up on the morphine making her tummy a little upset, that and was very tired she kept falling asleep. She had her first fluids/food today, already learned what full means and is finaly learning sipping doesn't consists of half a pint of water.

Way cool! Yep Earl was doing laps like that too. It's good to hear that she is getting good care. I had a horrible time after my surgery...I would beg them to walk with me (Earl couldn't be there) and they would say...sure...be right back... which never happened. That is so important after surgery. Glad to hear she is doing so good! Val

Val - All my walking was on my own. I forced myself to just go do it and then had to beg for them to plug me back in after. Never had a problem unhooking myself from all the monitors but could never untangle myself and plug back up. Other than the night nursing staff the day staff was horrid. The experience I had with them was just awful. I plan to outline everything that happened to my surgeon.

Ok, Val needs to come out there and straighten them up don't I??? That is just a huge pet peeve of mine. PLEASE not only tell your surgeon, but let them know in their patient satisfaction survery. If they don't send you one of those, then you need to write a letter to the Director of Nursing, or whatever they call it at your hospital. There is no excuse for poor patient care, period. I know they are short staffed, but you gotta do what you gotta do. That letter also needs to go to dietary. Hmmmm sounds like your doctor needs a person like me out there to get the ball rolling....I am trying like crazy to get into our bariatric department here, but the political wheels at OSU move like they are in molasses. S L O W Hang in there. Val
