New to this board
Hello all.....Wanted to pop in and say hi! I didn't know this message board exsisted. I'm glad I've found it because I've become happily obsessed with working out and becoming physically fit! I work out to the equivalent of 7 days a week. My schedule is generally Weights on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday; cardio on Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs and Sat. I'm working on becoming a group fitness leader - infact I take my certification test on the 16th
I just wanted to take a moment to say hi and see how everyone was doing on this board!!!!
Stay Healthy!

Welcome. Like you...I am "happily obsessed" with exercise. I hope you pass your certification...BTW...who is certifying you?
I'm going to start out teaching in the kidzfit program that my gym offers.
This program is designed to get the kids to learn to enjoy exercise at a young age. We work with kids from 3 yo to 15 year olds. After the age of 16 they are aloowed to join the gym as full members with parents agreement so we use this program to focus on fun and fitness for the kids. We teach martial arts, sports agility, cycling and for the babies - we teach a " Fun" and playtime class. They're great fun!!!!
I will be going through the BTS system (the creators of the original Step) for their BodyCombat and BodyPump systems. These classes are one hour classes where the Combat teaches several different methods of martial arts and incorporating a wonderful cardio work out combined and the Body Pump class is a one hour full body weight lifting/endurance/strength training work out!
That is great!
Love BTS. You talking like a New Zealander yet and doing the Hongi? I went through some of the Body Pump training with the instructors that work with my husband. I think the one we first learned on was #51. I helped him learn the routine. My husband did the full training and incorporates some of that into his personal training. They do the BodyStep and Bodyflow as well. Bodyflow launched a few weeks ago but I have not taken it yet. Not sure when Bodycombat is scheduled to launch but I will take that for sure! I like boxing and also thought the cardio kickboxing stuff looked cool. I'm not a fan of the step. I've posted pics of my favorite moves from BTS Bodypump on the boards in the past. Deadrow + clean and press, etc.
I am also a big spin fan. Do you think you will ever get your spinning cert too? I'd like to do that at some point. My maid of honor at our wedding is actually a spin instructor. I also have another friend that is a pilates instructor. They also worked with my husband. One of the major reasons why I am having WLS beyond just being more healthy is to be able to continue doing all of the group fitness, cardio, and resistance training that I love so much. It really just isn't as much fun with all the extra weight on my body and the joint pain these days. less than two weeks to Surgery day.. yeay!
The gym I go to has all of the Major BTS classes (Pump, Combat, RPM, Flow, Step) We are awaitning the North American release of Body Attack. They also offer other common classes (Interval training, abs, Pilates, Yoga). That's part of what I love about this gym - they do have a vast variety of what they offer.
Having the WLS has openend me up to another world that I thoroughly enjoy. Getting in shape and being healthy has proven to me that life is so much more fun now! Energy abounds me !!!!!!
I love that there are other people who know and understand the importance of this new healthier life style!!!
