arrggggghhhh
Ok...here's the scenario...
stretched, warmed up, squat rack set up, pumped up, excited ready to roll with a max effort squat workout...having a GREAT day...feel good yea baby!
...then the pager goes off....AAAARRRRRGGGHHHH
I am on "back up" call because the person on call lives too far away from the hospital...so I might as well just be on call. I have to put all my stuff up and leave the gym.
She gets paid to be on call yet doesn't have to do any of the call work. Makes me so damn mad I want to scream. Well, I did say a few no no's in the gym, threw my bag got my coat and left.
Well, I decided to go back after completing my task, but by that point the adrenaline was gone, and I just couldn't get my head into the game. But I figured a half assed work out was better than none...so here it is.
Squats:
65# 2 sets of 3
95# x3
115# x 1
135# x 1 x 1 (did a second one because my form was so bad on the first one and I just about dumped it, so I did it again so I could make sure I mentally had it)
155# x 1
Good mornings
65# 2 sets of 3
85# x 6 x 6
Butt blaster
3 sets of 12
Calf raises (standing)
60# x 12 x 12 x 12
seated cable rows
70# x 6
80# x 6
90# x 6 x 5
At this point I just didn't have anymore. That was it. I decided to just chalk it up to an off day, go home and call it a day.
Thanks for letting me "dump" that on ya guys. Monday is the start of the new week and I am gonna make up my mind right now to have a good one.
Dana and I have had a number of those days. Lifting is so much mental. If you get out of that zone sometimes it can be really hard to regain that focus. Be happy you gave it a try and made it today. Remember were you were at a few years ago and applaud yourself for making the effort to go back and give it a try. You are right... Monday is a new week and you will have a good one. Nice job!!
